Marc Guiu - Boomerang Transfer confirmed

Did a lot better in the second half when we had players in and around him. Lumping the ball around in the first half did nobody any favours, including him.

Can't really judge him too much of that tonight, he's never gonna play in a team like that again really. Got himself in good areas more than enough times even if the final application wasn't there which is promising. Probably the best option for us up front if we're just gonna whack regular crosses in like we have been doing first three games this season.

That goal looked like it came off the defender to me though so not sure about this whole thing of him taking it well.

Looked the same to me. Can't say if it was even on target. I'm fairly sure the defender headed it after he touched it.

Don’t think he played particularly well tonight but if we are wanting a different kind of profile striker to Mayenda and Isidor, then I’m not expecting somebody with pace. As the game went on, his hold up play and lay offs improved.

Would like to see us sign another striker but I’m certainly not writing him off yet

(Should’ve took a penalty like)
Aye , I found it very odd that centre forward didn’t take one of the first five penalties 🤔

Im more worried that we dont seem to be creating many opportunites for the strikers. Had Mayenda put that away early against Burnley its a different game, however second half we never really looked like scoring despite chasing the game. It was tough to watch, and the strikers were starved of chances
This imo emphasises the need for a top finisher to come in (admittedly they are hard to find at premier league level).

We are naturally going to have games where we only create 1/2 decent chances. So when they come along we need a striker who will put at least one of those away. Jermain Defoe basically kept us in the league a few years running just by scoring his 1 chance each game. Mayenda will be a great player, but even at his best he misses some big chances - we can't afford that this year
