If he was as good as some think why did Arsenal get shot of him .Thing is he is a half decent shot stopper but he fooks up quite a bit .
Fabianski is doing alreet

I forgot Lloris even existed TBH. Yeah he's up there with the others I said. I'd have them both in there, Arsenal appeared much more assured defensively once Wenger dropped Csezny (who would also be in the 2nd tier IMO).
Loris makes a shit load of mistakes his kicking is as bad as pants

Most of you consider Pants being poor because of his kicks but when he played for City didnt had problems with his kicks ... and what he should do when the club tactic is to send ball forward and pray for a bit of luck ? The sad truth is we dont have construction ... we just send the ball forward where is only 1 striker. If you look at stats Pantilimon has the highest average of long balls . It's hard to have precision at that distance . Only De Gea, Curtois and Hart are better than him . Ospina better ? he made a lot of mistakes but Arsenal have 70-80% possession each match and their defense its better than ours.
It's not only his kicks he never distributes it quickly he never throws it either

Think we should look at finding a Championship club for him (where he can play every match) and signing a journeyman for #2, but I have no clue how good he actually is right now.

Said this for a while. Try and get Pickford to a top half Championship club as a no.1 and fetch Tommy Sorensen or someone of that ilk back for a no.2

How can one who is not a top flight keeper be an excellent back up ?

Because I posted it when under the influence? The question can be answered simply however, in that most Premiership second choice keepers aren't what you would call Premiership quality. If they can come in and be reasonable without chucking them in then, I'd call them excellent back up. Mannone in general has done ok (arguably tailed off at the end of last season), but he's just not good enough to be a Premiership regular.

You need a run of games to be judged, yesterday was irrelevant, It was a one off game where the whole team was relaxed as the game was

I prefer Pants and id happily sell Mannone or have him as a number 2
He is still a decent keeper but think its time to move him on and have pickford as number 2

That Southampton game seems to have fucked him over big time. There was one moment in the game when the ball was knocked up pretty high about 8 yards out, but he chose to stay on his line rather than coming for it. A sign of a lack of confidence without doubt.

fair enough

Probably only three teams in the prem with 2 top class keepers
chelsea
man united
spurs

Just over a year ago, Vito was being lauded on here as one of the in the division. In fact the OP claimed he was better than Mingolet.

I think he had a poor end to the season after a good start last year (despite our form) and done especially well in the cup. But this season he didn't start well, always seemed quite positive though which I liked about him and quite comfortable, despite not being as agile and capable as some keepers. I do think you're right - the Southampton game must have knocked his confidence badly, as on limited appearances since he's not looked as confident.

This has always been the board's achilles heel. Keepers are judged by strange standards and seem to have two settings only "world class" and "shit", neither of which, obviously, tends to apply.

We have 10 more positions to worry about ahead of keeper. Pants is a solid PL keeper, Mannone is out of form, but good backup and if he stays out of form we have Pickford.

FFS Sunderland don't spunk any precious cash this summer on a keeper.
