Man City U21's - Confirmed Tues 22nd Feb

Discussion in 'Pure Football' started by tynevalleyblackcat, Jan 10, 2019.

  1. Could we ask Man City and the EFL to get this game moved to the blank Saturday on the 26th instead of playing it on the previous Tuesday night? Crowd would be far bigger and would just be a better day out for the fans.

Had a look and Man City have no fixtures listed for their EDS side that weekend.

Maybe not the draw we wanted but at least if we win and get to Wembley it definately will not be an U21 side we play against.

Surely everyone benefits in this instance ? Fans reliant on public transport for example unlikely to bother midweek but will come on the Saturday. SAFC would benefit financially, what rationale could the EFL adopt to say this could not happen, if both SAFC and Man City EDS like the idea ?

Its extremely logical and for that reason it won't happen

  7. I think the only way they would object is if whoever has the TV rights wants to hoy it on the box.

Ross might fancy a rare Saturday off as well!!

Have their first team got a fixture that midweek? Hopefully yes so Pep has less chance of playing ringers

Would be better for all involved if that happened. Common sense though so it wont!

Not in favour. 10 days preparation for next game more beneficial.

You’d think that given we will having a lot of 3 game weeks thanks to the postponed games, he will also be in favour of this from a managing point of view. Really hope this happens, will probably mean a difference of 7,000 fans or so, I might not bother in midweek but will definitely go on the Saturday if this logical idea occurs.

Would be great if it happened. Living on the dark side means evening games are an absolute pain to do.

No chance city playing any first teamers, it's their busiest period of the year and still in all 4 comps.

their 2nd leg v Burton. I reckon we'll find that most of their top young'uns are involved in that giving the senior players the night off.

  20. He can't and don't think they would anyway. Over age players who have played more than about 25 first team games are ineligible.
