Man City 115 charges.

Absolutely pointless in doing this . Winning stuff is in the moment . Theyve had their amazing days and fantastic journeys , who gives a fuck if they then look in the history books and they are not there . If we get named League Cup winners who honestly would give a shiney shite .
I both agree and disagree. I wouldn’t start celebrating like we had just won a league cup. However stripping them of their medals is more about discrediting their ‘success’. If they are left to keep their medals then it doesn’t dissuade anybody else from breaking the rules in the future.

I would celebrate like we had won it today. I'd expect a trophy parade Monday

Put them in the first division , that would give any club thinking about breaking the rules , something to think about .

I know the premier league are doing this and efl are different. However premier league should follow the Efls lead

Why is it not possible for demotion?

Surely cheating is cheating and they f****d over everyone else in the league during that time
EXACTLY!

Out the whole league for me!

Why should they follow their lead? Like we both agree they are different bodies and both have made huge mistakes and the EFL have made some seriously stupid decisions.

Demotion isn’t possible as they are different governing bodies, unlike in Scotland when it happened to Rangers the SFA controlled all the leagues in England the PL can only either kick you out of their league or a points deduction. If they are kicked out of the league then Man City would have to apply to join the league structure I believe which would be very messy. Why should Man City be allowed to join in league 2 when AFC Wimbledon and the likes had to start from the bottom?

If they are found guilty and it’s a huge if then a financial penalty and points deduction might happen. For sure people will be banned from being directors as it’s fraud for a lot of the charges.

Again though the Premier League messed up trying to look big and strong, they’ve basically charged them with 4 or 5 breaches multiple times. That has resulted in the case dragging on for years, they’ve basically charged should have just went after the 4 or 5 most clear cut (in their opinion) and it would likely be over now.
Not disputing anything you’ve said, and not trying to argue

But surely if the PL went to the EFL, we’ll give you an extra place in the PL next season if you put these cheaters in League 2 and give an extra promotion place for league 1 and 2.

From a common sense point of view can’t the bodies work together? It’s football in the same country at the end of the day

Hello yet more legal cases would be my guess. It’s just what I’ve heard from podcasts but PL only have the power to issue financial penalties or points deductions which would result in relegation.

Common sense would be perfect, in an ideal world we’d only have the FA and they’d control all the leagues and cups in the country then they could punish teams but sadly we have this mess. That’s how Rangers got relegated to division 3 or whatever it was called.

PL don’t want city out of the league either really, they bring more eyes to the product than Boro or hull or any other club in the Championship, eyes equal money.

Fair enough, would settle for 100 point deduction for next season, or 33 points for each of the next 3

Even if they're guilty they can't be stripped of the League Cup. It's the Premier League who have charged them, the League Cup is under the jurisdiction of the EFL.

This is a great point.

In dream world, the EFL would use the Southampton case to go, “we’re not f***ing around now”, and strip City of their bajillion League Cups.

EFL directors would love it because they always like to posit that they are the true home of football and the PL is some horrific aberration.

Think they would still have to go through a separate legal process though and they'd have to prove they broke EFL rules - which they didn't because there's no FFP in the League Cup.

I think he's just burned out, the level of graft and mental strength it takes to prep for 2 games a week at the highest level for years on end is serious. He'll take a break for a season then come back for a new challenge, or maybe back to Barca.
