By the way Bordeux is f***ing lush, was there last month, he won;t be able to drink the amount of wine I did mind!

Certainly a better lifestyle. From a footballing perspective it's a good opportunity if he's playing & from a lifestyle perspective he's going to have a much better time in Bordeux. Meant to be a completely different culture to training and that abroad too. His family are London based so can't imagine he has any ties to stay up here.

genuinely would have wished him all the best and followed what he did with interest but if what he's done is true he can get fucked

absolute piss poor attitude. can't help but think it's all agent driven though and the lad is to thick to make his own choices. like a puppet on a string

To be fair his attitude thinks been spot on could've easily done a rodwell but still kept banging the goals in for us

If i get more money for the same job fuck loyalty show me the money. Good luck Josh xx

I think its a good move for him personally, for the reasons you stated, least didnt just go to cardiff or huddersfield

be interesting to see how his career develops, he is still so so young like

I don't hold anything against Maja tbh. He's a young lad and clearly being influenced by older people around him. It must be tough in these situations, everybody thinks they know what's best for him.
If what Radio Newcastle say is true i.e. that he has packed his bags and gone before anything is agreed with Bordeaux then you should certainly hold something against him. You have to remember he was at Man City and Fulham before us so it is the faith and development that we have put him in that has got him to where he can get a deal from Bordeaux. Assuming this then the bloke has treated the club disgracefully - the club that he owes his career to. Blame the agent all you want but it is Maja who has walked out.

Barnes has just been on the radio mate, he was adament that no fee had been agreed with Bordeaux and negotiations are ongoing.

By refusing to play for us, Maja effectively weakens our position. It's a horrible trick to play and shows zero respect for the club, manager and fans.

Shoulda been binned as soon as the deadline passed....

Sad to see this young talented player go, but it seems to me that his agent has influenced him to point that it ws inevitable. Being a league 1 side we are not going to attract proven goal scorers from higher divisions, so we need to be identifying up and coming young talent that will prove to be value for money.. No easy task though..

Bordeaux?! What an odd destination. Just shows the little shitstain is, like most footballers, motivated by money, and cares not one jot about our club, nor fans.
I hope his career goes down the shitter. (Unless we have a sell on clause. Then I’d hope he gets a massive transfer.... then his career goes down the shitter!

Career wise it's not a bad move....decent size club, higher standard, more money, chance to prove himself and then move to a bigger club. That's without mentioning the lifestyle. Just a shame he's fucked us over to achieve it.

Feel very let down if we met the demands of wages yet has not signed, don't know the full ins and outs, but if Maja really wanted to stay he would of done by early Jan, just hope we sign a replacement and maybe another for the step up if promoted .

I agree - I think he'll get more space and time in the French League. He's nowhere near ready for the Premier League and is not definitely at Championship level.

Yeah agree. It would have been good for his development if he was still here working with coaches that know him & his game however if we are in League 1 next year then he probably doesn't need another season in league 1. Whereas if Honeyman/Hume/Robson/Kimpioka/Mumba are in league 1 next year it would easily still aid their development
