He also told the manager that showed faith in him and who talked up the relationship he had with them he was staying.

I'm saying though, all clubs will sell for the right price. We were in a rock and a hard place with our best player being out of contract in a years time, and he refused to sign when we met his terms. Making the best of a bad situation and try and replace him.

Did I say that?

I'd just be interested to know how good a contract we did offer him. Just because the owner says it's "very good" doesn't make it so, and I couldn't give two fucks what every other Tom Dick and Harry in the league are paying their players.

Grigg has 83 goals and 15 assists in his last 168 games in this division.

If we get Grigg in to replace Maja, there's no concern at all.

He wasn't going to sign a new deal and the club have done well to get a deal worth up to £3.5m for him given the circumstances.

We don't even know if Maja was going to be able to make the step up next season if we do go up. He will disappear in Ligue 1 and will be so far out of his depth that he should be required to wear armbands on the pitch.
