I don't think Embleton would be signing at the club for the wrong reasons, same as Hume, been here since they were children

Stewart Donald would have announced it before January to say look we’ve offered him exactly what he wants and he’s dragged it out announcing it in January is pointless

Even better how his agent told Sunderland he couldn’t meet them. But the night before we played newcastle under 21’s he was up in Newcastle :D
 
Loads of experts on here knew only to well that Maja would have scored 16 goals this season...

It's easy with the benefit of hindsight to see we should have offered him more money at the start of the season. He's done far better than I though he would. I wouldn't have put money on him having 8 goals at this stage.

He's still a huge gamble for a team in the Championship as he's not proven at all at that level.

How many players have we signed since the summer? How many deadlines did we put out? How many of the deals were in the media before a signature?

Why would he do that? The only reason we know we agreed to the request is because the agent went to the press to announce Maja wasn’t signing. That’s when Stewart made all this public...

I’m using what is out in the public domain, you’re making shit up what you think happened.

Because that covers he’s back if he came out in September and said we’ve offered maja exactly what he’s asked for just waiting for him to sign I would say fair play he’s done everything he could to get him to sign a new deal if he doesn’t sign he’s not right for this club

Your bang on the money if someone said at the beginning of the season maja would be the main man and scoring for fun a would say a highly doubt it

But come the end of September he had 7 in 9 we needed him tied down then

And yeah still massively unproven in the championship but he has the little bit about him what makes me think he’s going to be a good striker

Seems to me that paying players what they want without regard to their worth to the club is what dropped us in the sh 1 t in the first place. No one could have envisaged that Maja would have become the goal scorer he turned out to be. Giving him a large contract in August was not sensible at the time.

TBF I think if Wyke was fully fit at the start of the season I think Maja would’ve been on the bench a lot

Maja - Not a raging success at championship level and unproven in league 1, Considered not as good as Asoro who's not exactly ripping up trees in the championship.
Embleton - Great reviews for england youth squads but obviously deemed surplus and loaned out to a league 2 club
Stryjek - Loaned out to a league 2 club last season and a conference side this season. Third choice since he's been here
Hune - Made one appearance at the ned of last season.

You keep saying that the owners should invest in the squad. If we were actually to achieve promotion which of the above 4 players deserve a contract based upon what the owners and manager have seen "early on"

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Its not hindsight, virtually all of our young players are out of contract in 6 months

you can make as many excuses as you want but its not a coincidence like, clearly bit of a fuck up.
