"couple of days grace" has turned into four, days. I think he's going to re-sign because...can feel in me wata.
Don't feel that myself. Think it's all just a stalling tactic. Trying to put the player in a better light- wants to stay, evil agent etc, when in reality he has no intention of putting pen to paper with us.

I tend to agree with this.

If we sold him now (not saying we wouldn't score anymore goals for the year) but that puts a massive dent in our promotion battle. To be fair his price wouldn't justify the need to sell him this month anyway. Let's say we manage to jag 3mil for him which I think is inflated for a lad in league 1. How much less would we get if tribunal gets involved.... 1 ish. Fine that means that by keeping him and getting the goals we need to go up it cost us 2mil. I'm happy with that, we make more than that in TV rights by being up anyway.

I understand it's not the idea scenario but would rather have him than not. The only other way I could see it working is if we sell him now and get him back on loan for the rest of the year.

I tend to agree, what I have read we are unlikely to get a significant fee for him now, we would also have to spend for a goal scorer.. plus if we went up we would earn more anyhow.

So as long as he is playing and scoring keep him...

so he would have been on a more than agrand before decutions then?
Actually it’s less than £1k per week.
It’s equivalent to less than a £50k per year salary, which is buttons for one of the leading goal scorers in League 1.
Isn’t Lee Cattermole reputed to be on £40k per week?

he didnt get the contarct when he was one of the leading goal sciorers in league one..we think of tje leading goal scorers in league one should be pauid just under 10k so thats the offer..
catts wasnt signed for league one anymore than maja was..

I felt he would end up signing.

Now, I can't see it happening. Play him until we sell him if that's the case, promotion has to be the priority.

Cynical but, possible. Why wouldn't he want to stay? 45000 people watching him play football.

Religious lad isn't he? Sign the contract Josh, I can hear the spirits and they are telling me "don't leave".

To know where we stand with him so we can plan accordingly
But, Imo like, we still can't really plan.
Presume we will keep him as it means promotion is more achievable, and presume we would then still want him to sign a contract at the end of the season, if he is willing.

if he signs the contract he gets the bigger money now..means less budget for other signings now..so have to plan to know what that means i guess..

Have I missed something here? I haven’t been on the thread for a while but the last two pages are people saying he doesn’t want to stop. Donald said in the podcast he told him & Jack Ross he wanted to stop on Monday. Nothings been said since then has there? They’ll be in negotiations

Woy just mentioned on SSN that his scouts are looking at Maja. Palace definitely need a striker now, so we could probably attract a decent fee to let Josh go now, rather than in the summer. What we really need is another club to join a biding war (preferably with a loan-back) to secure his services in the medium term. I think it's inevitable we will lose him so maximum cash income is now the proirity.

Maybe I misunderstood but the post I was replying to seemed to suggest the £600 per week was a good income for him. I was just saying he won’t feel like it is if he is one of out more important players and he looks at what the rest of the dressing room are earning.
