I just get the same feeling from maja when he is in those positions i think he will score. Its due to the way he brings a ball down its like its on a string
Don't get me wrong mate I'm really confident when I see Maja get in and around the box but for me he hasn't got the pace over a few yards like Phillips had. Yeah, it's the way he controls it and his quick feet, the way he shifts it so quickly between his feet is skilful as fuck and great to watch.

Watching him for the first time in the flesh yesterday that lad is clearly very talented. His little flicks and so forth to other team mates make him a lost more than just a goal scorer.

Running a club and keeping fans happy is a tough job. With the Borini saga, there was no deadline, and that was a problem because we didn't have the time to find an alternative. Now there was a deadline and now that's a problem.

But the Borini one the default position was not having him. Maja default position is him plating for us for three months.

He's improving parts of his game all the time to my eyes. His hold up play, his passing, even dropping back and trying to win back possession. Yet I still ended up arguing with someone in the pub after the game yesterday who didn't rate him.

These people who don't rate him, I know a few, will be the same people who moan like fuck when the goals dry up after he's gone.
Personally I don't think it'll be the case, think other players will step up.

Exactly this, his all round play is improving rapidly. He will never be able to hold off a centre half in the way Wyke did yesterday and he is still far from finished, but he is progressing.

This is where I hope we are, with Maja's agent saying to him 'don't sign, just yet, there is another couple of grand a week in this deal'. I consider this to be a perfectly reasonable negotiation strategy on their part.
Exactly this. Understandably our fans are looking it from our perspective and think there is no better club for Maja. His agent is doing exactly the right thing in looking out for him. He is probably waiting to see if a big club like Spurs, Everton or Chelsea come in for him. If not, there is no reason why he cannot sign for us in the summer, if we are willing to pay the same as other top championship clubs (assuming we are promoted). I get the argument that it is not very professional going to Sky with what's happening but he could argue that it wasn't professional of the club to make their demands/deadline public. People need to chill out and wait and see what happens. If Maja thinks he's better off at another club so be it, he owes us absolutely nothing as, had he not broken into the first team this year, he could have been without a club in the summer the way SAFC had left it. I really hope he stays and the fact that he told JR he would, says to me it is still not out of the question.

Think what’s pissed people off is the agent not having the common decency to speak to the club and pimping his client out on sky sports. And Maja not standing up to him as it’s disrespectful to the client too. Maja was in his rights to go apeshit st the agent and fire him.

Long while since I was 19/20 so I find it hard to remember wether I would of as u put it stood up to a professional/ financial adviser I’d appointed, I doubt I would of done instead i think I’d of taken and acted on his advice, I doubt Maja is different to most 20 year olds in this respect

I recall watching jimmy greaves video

When he went to Italy purely for money

But got homesick but still let scoring goals

The owners thought he's after more money but jimmy wanted to gan home

Unfortunately, you increase the offer.

to what though. his demands have already been met

I have a feeling that it doesn't matter what we offer (dangerous situation) it will not be good enough.

The agent is wangling for a sale, so he can get a pay off.

That does mean Maja will get a pay off as well, so the agent justifies his actions

credibility gone in negotiating sense but that will soon be forgotten

He wasn’t alone if I remember correctly Dennis law (I think it was him) went out there at same time, both came back within 12 months

Hughes did the same with Barcelona although lineker stayed and became a bit of a cult hero

The club would be doing us no favours if we sell him in January. We should be looking to strengthen the front line and add to it if we can. If the club need the 5 or 6 million that much, then work harder at raising sponsorship, striking deals with other partners, developing our commercial prospects and generally raising the off-field profile of the club. Keep the boy if he doesn't want to leave. Obviously a different matter if Maja then forces the club's hand and asks to go in January. If he runs down his contract and leaves for free - and we have been promoted to the Championship, we should be looking to improve the front line anyway.

it appears it is his agent who wants him to leave.

JR is playing the steady game and says he will play him (which I think is the right thing to do)

so really its up to the agent who has the morals of an alley cat

One of the benifits of being an old git is that I got to see Greaves play in the flesh, there haven’t been many better than him and I’m talking world wide

Tragedy that he’s now wheel chair bound having suffered a stroke a couple of years ago

Maybe you’re right. Kids are much more immature now and don’t grow up as quick as we used to have to.

But that also works for a 19/20 year old having a conversation with in his eyes the most senior person at the club with regard to his conversation with Ross. It would be very hard for such a young boy to say to Ross I want away

True, and why we, the fans need to be careful how we interpretate what we’re being told, for instance the “my agent has told me not to sign” could be an example of that type of scenario
