if maja is not sold in the window, then we must make peace with the player, so we can get some benefit from him.

casting players to youth players has never ended well. Rodwell for example

Just tell him and his agent that the clubs offer is it’s final offer and if he doesn’t sign he should either find himself a new club now or accept he won’t be played in the first team. Nowt wrong with that stance in my opinion.

Nobody knows, that's the point I'm making.

Like yourself and I'd guess the vast majority on here I'd prefer to keep the lad as we're geared up to help him succeed and he's grabbing vital goals for us. If he leaves we'd probably have to rethink our team plan, a right pisser at this stage of the season.
The point you make is that some mythical other would’ve scored 15 goals and consequently got us those points. I know no one currently at Sunderland who could do that.

He would be a huge loss at this stage of the season imho. He’s still scoring goals, when we are not playing great. If we can’t find equivalent or hopefully better, I’d continue to play him.

I’d love to know what the financial implications would be, if we keep him and took a loss at the end of season, but went up with the help of his goals.
Versus taking 2 million now, and missing out on going up?
going up will make little or no difference financially that we can know about now...no difference to para money or tv money..im sure we will gtet a bit more in sponsorship and that..but also some o f the players are on deals with pay riases fopr promotion.i syill hope we keep him until the summer though..

Can you remember Jordan Rhodes?

He scored 23 goals in L1 at the same age as Maja and was found wanting at levels above L1. Maja’s all round game is poor. He’s absolutely no threat in the air whatsoever, has little pace and is physically as weak as piss.

It is, your reference to Rhodes reminded me, I thought I had the right time frame in my head, but couldn’t quite believe it, so I admit I googled it to make sure I was right. It’s scary

And yet both could, and probably will be in the same league next season

Yes but in this ridiculous hypothetical situation we would’ve signed someone else.

The mags made around £5.5m in tv money in the Championship so it is a factor.

I wouldn’t offer a penny more for the reasons I outlined in an earlier post.

That’s your opinion then. You obviously haven’t thought things through though.
He's got superb close control; ball at feet in the box and he's deadly. He also shows quick feet regularly outside the box particularly when crowded by other players. This is his attribute.
His movement in the box is instinctive on crosses as evidenced by the number of 'flicked' finishes we've witnessed this season.
On the other hand:
He is week, he has no pace, he barely leaves the ground when jumping, his heading is akin to an OXO cube, and his movement off the ball other than detailed above is actually really poor.

Got alot to work on at a very tender age. Could go either way for him imho.

Edit: and I wouldn't offer him another penny either.

Roasted at a higher level?
simlar profile to jordan rhodes for me..good finsiher...
started his career in the championship,,dropped to league one, scored loads..at same age as maja is now..
got to championship again and did well...but never made premier league level..
maja may be much better but both rhodes and maja are oplayers of limited pace with limited aerial threat..they rely on being in the right place at the right time..

Sun say he's worth £5m and we could spend his £10k/week wages on someone else so what do you think ?
