the top scorer in the divison above that isnt a loan player is billy sharp...opaying three times s league one wage should get you a plyer to get you out of the division..nbecause no other team is paying that in league one and three team have to go upo..so by definition..you can pay less than that and go uo..the next highest scorer in the championship that isnt on loan from the prem is teemu pukki of norwhich..he could easily be on less than 10k a week..

why wpould we make another offer after he accepted rthis one?
Irrelevant

He hasn't accepted it man

So 7k is is our total final offer for a player of his ability?

There is a difference between offering him massive money irresponsibly and coming back with a 2nd offer

If he has been offered 7k, then offer him more, as he is worth it.

Every club has their ceiling and their means, but if that is the offer then it shouldn't be a final one, because we won't get anyone remotely as good for the same price.
you made the 7k nbumber upo off the top of your head when we know its more..why offer him more..he has accepted the current amount of money,,why pay mnore than that-HE SAID YES TO THE MONEY OFFERED..

he is someone who is not proven beyond this league..

It's not just about money.

I’m not saying it’s irresponsible. I’m saying it appears to be something other than financial terms as they were agreed to. Maybe he just can’t be bothered wih bouncing around the bottom half/mid table of the championship with us for the next few years. Fuck knows.

a lot of this will be answered when we see what club he gets..if he joins a prem team..well he was always going tyo accept thast..

There is no chance he is signing for 7k, and its so embarrassing people saying its 3 times worth the average league one player etc, like that has any relevance to us in the slightest

What strikers with his potential and ability are on less than 10k?

I have no idea what you're saying up top regarding relevance to us. As to your second point, there'll be shedloads the world over man. Supported by some of the best attacking players in the division he's fared reasonably well in league one over a few months, that's it.

Maybe yeah, guess his next move will show

I just think we have approached it wrong.

There are not many earning less than that doing it in the championship

And sorry but that is exactly where we went wrong under Short, thinking, just sign another player, we will find someone better

its not that easy

its irrelavnt what footballers cost?

7k is not our offer..its higher..youve just made it up..
Irrelevant to our situation
If you want a player you meet their demands
All clubs are different
Can we afford to keep Maja ? Probably
Do we want to bow to his agents demands ?
Unlikely
Shame it’s come to this at this stage of the season

biut the club have taken exactly the approach you repeatedly suggested..by giving him what he wants financially..tghats nwhat you said to do.
the thing the club cant give him is premier league football..if he is to be offered that we cant compete..the club followed your stragegy but it had a bit of a flaw..

The Sky Sports thing, who cares? I don't get why Donald got so angry and tweeted all that nonsense

Its an agent, its what they do, you have to work with them remember.

I get what you are saying, but what I am saying is that if shouldn't be our final offer

I just think the owners are in for a massive shock when they get promoted if they think that is that bad

It might not have been our final offer.

It was what he asked for, and we weren't able to "work with the agent any further" because we were told he wasn't going to sign for SAFC.

After both the agent and Maja confirmed he "was not going to sign for SAFC" the club can't control that.

They gave him what he asked for which is what you wanted. They withdrew from negotiations with SAFC.

Probably unavoidable now, but honestly think we will regret it if he leaves. A lot of things he needs to improve on, but the kid is gonna be a top, top player. You can't teach that killer instinct and he's got such a good natural first touch and eye for goal. You may laugh, but reminds me of a young Harry Kane in some ways.

one goal in 17 in the championship..

Maja’s goals have got us 13 points we’d be 9th now not third. Talk of him not starting is Bollocks

That's ridiculous man, it's like fielding ten men. Who can say how many goals someone else may have scored? Take out the keeper and we've have conceded another twenty goals. :)
