Id get as much as possible for him and bring in Toney from Peterborough. Maja is an excellent finisher but his other skills are lacking imo. Got a Dave Nugent career coming his way.

He's unproven at a higher level, no talk of top teams being interested, his all round play is not (yet anyway) good enough for a top tier team. I hope you're right though and he signs a deal with us and we sell him for 30 mill in a few years.

Some need to give their heads a flipping shake, did not realise we had so many knowledgeable supporters on the forum.

My eyes have been opened, Management made a decision and by heck, the experts responded.

Excellent skills from loads on what's gone wrong and by whom. Mind amongst the drivvel some bloody good posts. So fair play, it takes all sorts.

I can talk shite, with the best of them, but would rather see how this episode plays out.

Presumably they have offered at least same deal as they did to Gooch. Seems strange tho that he said to JR yesterday that he was signing and then reneged. I wouldn't have thought that Gooch would have accepted a league 1 based contract for 3 1/2 years.

They’ve offered him what his agent asked for. I think @West_Winger might have a point, they didn’t expect to get what they asked for, so we’re hoping to be able to say he was moving because the club hadn’t met his demands, club looks bad, agent gets a chunk of a transfer deal.
Club offered what was being asked, so agent goes public, saying he’s not signing, alerting clubs, agent gets the player a transfer and still gets a cut.
 
Maja would do wise to check Frannie Jeffers career .. he scored 18 goals with Everton then mega deal to arsenal where he was pants and ultimately got moved on and then only scored another 22 goals in the rest of his career

Absolutely sick to f***ing death of the continued demise of football due to parasitic agents and greed. If SAFC are the first to take a real stand against these f***ing worthless wankers in the knowledge that we will suffer in the short term then so be it, we can take it. In fact I’d genuinely rather we languished in the lower leagues than service the financial needs of these f***ing worms.

This is a footballing area and very much a working class footballing area to boot. I have absolutely no time or financial inclination to spend my hard earned money supporting self serving agents and their ilk. Fuck off. .

SD has my fullest support and so should all genuine supporters of football not only at SAFC but throughout the country, the f***ing *****.

It was all I could think of as the situation isn’t something I’ve ever seen in football.

Obviously @The Hunter hypothesised that another club could have offered a large sum to Maja’s family - if we’ve offered the same thing then the agent is knackered because unless he can get a better deal from another club he’s burned his bridges with both Sunderland and probably Maja as well. Going to Sky to say he won’t be signing is probably his last throw of the dice.
