Catch 22 though. If he's benched and we go on a shit run there will be calls to play him. I'd play him personally, everyone is different. I wouldn't grief him, however I wouldn't sing his name at the minute either.

I'll leave it up to Jack. If Jack thinks his head is right and he's going to play the way he has been, that's enough for me. H'es a big enough man not to let fans sway his selection decisions.

Perhaps his agent got the hump with the club going public about the deadline. Safc backed them into a corner by going public, agent thinks ‘fuck it, I’ll show them’. A bold move by Donald, but it’s not gone very well has it?

Perhaps is the best conjecture you can come up with. Give your head a shake fella. Not a bold move, but a management move, doing what he said from the off.

If I recall, how did it go, Oh Aye, this piss taking by Agents has to be dealt with!

Not conversion rate but his goals per minutes is second only to one other player in the league.

According to the expected goals thing (I know, I know) we don’t create nearly as many chances as the other teams at the top. A big reason for the disparity between our expected goals and our actual performance is Maja’s clinical finishing.

Theres clinical finishing and being the best goal scorer the world has ever seen!
He doesn't seem rushed at all, when in the box he has got great feet and nearly always makes time for himself, but is it just good form. Ross has always said that he's not a natural centre forward although a great finisher.

Not when it's contractual and has a massive financial implication for us. That's why they made such a huge deal about it.

please explain .. does his contract state he has to play ?

edit - ignore I misread your comment

I think the owners make put the blockers on it. It's a potential few million on the line for a couple of games (if there is a quick sale )

This is all funny to me because I'm in a contract negotiation right now, and have not signed the terms offered, by the deadline of yesterday. The new deadline is Wednesday! And they'll likely find a few more quid!

Funny how that works. Glad there aren't masses of message boards and twitter geniuses slagging me off, and telling the management to fire me on the spot.

Neebody gives a fuck about you though, unless you can knock in 20 goals a season.

Unfortunately this is quite possible, in which case the young lad will have to live with the consequences of his and or his agents decision. We’ve all had to make difficult choices and live with the results. Footballers shouldn’t be any different.

Bloody Hell, Dilli fella, let's be having less of the intelligent points and debate. Your street cred will be out of the window fella :rolleyes::lol::lol:

We're all fans, and we all have the club's best interests at heart. Things like tis divide opinion, and some even fall out and get the pet lip on over it.

Only one thing is for sure, and that is SAFC is a massive club, outstanding history, huge and loyal fanbase that is the envy of all but 3 or 4 clubs in the whole country. If Maja thinks it's time to leave the club that gave him his breakthrough, that tells me more about him than I expected. At his age, with the development he is currently making, it is the totally wrong decision. Contracts can be useless anyway, so he could walk away after having signed a new contract. He knows that, so does his agent, it is what happens in football. So, basically, he has arrested his own development and the nurturing and coaching that Jack Ross and his team have set in place for him. His loss. Don't us fall out over this. Football is snide and it is only the supporters who have loyalty and morals.

Maja looks like he's took the piss here like. Saying one thing then doing another a day later just isn't on. Very poor character from him and doesnt reflect well.
This is the bit that annoys me the most I think. Forget all the arguements about the rights and wrongs of the owners and of the Twitter stuff, and whether we should have offered him more,
Yesterday he told Jack Ross, a manager who has spoken publically all week, about the positive relationship they had, who put his trust in him and gave him his chance to score the goals he’s scored he was signing. Today he’s changed his mind.

Well you aint a Sunderland fan at heart then because only an idiot would defend Maja and his actions.

I was replying to that
So if you don’t defend Maja you aren’t a Sunderland supporter at heart... okay

Agree he won’t play tomorrow. But had things been handled differently or not within the public domain there is no reason why he couldn’t have played for the rest of the month and beyond, scoring 30+ goals and helping the club to promotion. Who knows, he might then have decided to stay. Complete fuck up by the board. He won’t admit it in public but jack Ross must be fuming at the way it’s been handled

His agent put it in the public domain less than 12 hours after Maja sought out Ross and told him he was signing.
His agent put in the public domain that Maja was not going to sign for SAFC.

It wasn't SAFC that put out the story in the public domain. And nothing in your guessing and supposition will change this.

Maja "mislead" Ross to his face. And you're telling us Ross will be pissed off with the board?!

It’s all lies man . Maja is the player not his agent . If maja wanted to sign and his agent came out with that maja would bladder the agent . Their all just taking the piss .

His agent is the root cause of the problem undoubtedly but Maja is not blameless here either mind.

I’d be much more pissed off with Maja if I was Jack Ross
