Because agents dont like being slagged off in public? It could put off other agents from working with the club in the future, if they feel like they might also get the same treatment. Agents work behind the scenes and dont announce things publically when clubs pull out of a deal etc, its about remaining professional.

This agent I imagine will think twice in future about bringing their players to you.
The Agent will not give a fuck what Sunderland have said. If we approach him for a player and the price it right a deal will be done.

This is multi- million pound deals we are talking about here, not school yard fallouts, business will be done regardless.

I don’t, he can fuck off for me. Hope he doesn’t play again until he signs. The fans have been behind him since he made his debut, it’s him that needs to grow a set of balls and fuck off his agent.

Why?

It's literally common practice for lower league players to play out the season in the last year of their contracts before deciding where they move too

Very much so.

Can’t think of any Premier League chairman who would do something of the sort.

The podcasts were great, interaction with fans on any kind of issue is great. Constantly commenting on transfer rumours and then coming out with this is embarrassing.

I’m fairly sure he said he would stop commenting on these types of issues in the summer too and leave it to Ross.

I get that he’s passionate. I get that he’s emotional. He’s seemingly a proper football fan. But he’s running a big football club not Eastleigh anymore. He can be transparent, which we all appreciate, without being slightly amateurish

If he stays until the end of his contract it isn’t lack of commitment. He’s hardly forced a move half way through it.

Defoe done similar with his clause and people backed him. In fact Defoe was worse because he had a clause added to allow him to fuck off for nowt mid term.
Do you have a slightly different view now in light of the very recent news?....

No player is bigger than the club, there's been far better players left and have been replaced..

I can remember when we signed Kevin Phillips, people were saying it was seen as a step backwards ;)
That’s one maybe(if it ever happened) the counter argument list will be as long as this thread

I think the purpose of the tweet was so that the news came out from the club first rather than fans hearing it from Sky as the club seemingly did.

This exactly. SD has made a point about openness and that has its advantages and disadvantages. It highlights yet again the tawdry, unscrupulous world of the football agent but it also put’s Maja in a difficult position if he was asked to play before his move is finalised.

I suspect this tweet pretty much confirms Maja won’t be signing a contract here and the clubs deadline suggests they intend to cash in sooner rather than later.

Interestingly enough, the team bus left about 9 am this morning as I saw it on the M1 at 11.30 going past J26. Wonder if Maja was on it?

and no, I aint a Stobart Spotter
