Wasn’t to put pressure on the lad, it is a business decision to try to protect our financial position on an asset as best we can. You need to get use to the idea that we are now run as a business and business have to make tough decisions to survive occasionally.
We are not in a position where we need to get rid of Maja to survive & we were protected by the tribunal where there has been some reasonable fees settled on + sell on clauses

Bad news but as said you have to draw the line players taking the piss

Maja has been very badly advised IMO and is chasing the cash , can see his career amounting to nowt but regrets in a few year

So come on what does the club do ?

Play him. Ultimately he's scoring goals, and while I think he should sign for us, he has a contract and shouldn't be forced into another one if he doesn't want to. It's his decision unfortunately.

Letting him rot away on the bench or peddling him for jackshit is a waste of time. If he can help us get promotion great.

Should remind him of ndong and how that ended up.

Sick of mercenaries at this club, stick him on the bench and on the transfer market for £4m and tell his brilliant agent to find him a club willing to meet our price and he can go, otherwise he stays till the end of the season on his old contract and we should still get a couple of million for him from a tribunal in the summer.

Get him fucked off the prick

This is precisely the reason why I this has all been handled badly. Fans turning on the players has all the hallmarks of the last few seasons and today has only encouraged this again. We didn't replace our best striker last season and it went pretty badly then. I hope the new owners have a different approach to it than the old ones did because we have a similar amount of money available..

It was already out, Sky were calling him for comment and the media being what they are they would have just printed a load of shite. Why on earth wouldnt he make sure OUR side of the story was in play rather than be vilified by the agents shit house games.

Yeah that's a good point. I think they've handled it poorly by setting a public deadline. Only reason they have done it is so they can flog him

Yesterday Josh sought Jack out unprompted and said he wants to sign his contract. Today sky call and say he is not. I inform Jack who pulls Josh and asks what is going on - Josh says - My agent has told me not to sign for Sunderland. His agent told Sky TV rather than the club!!!!

From SD twitter
So why didn't they sit him straight down and sign it?
