He's a striker, he scores goals. What else do you want him to do, come out on the wing or midfield to pass the ball to players that aren't natural finishers?
It doesn’t matter, he doesn’t want to play for us, it’s a huge step in class from where he is now to the top divisions, he’ll get found out.

£3.5m is great business if the add-ons are realistic & achievable quickly enough.

Grigg and another (Shankland?) for <£5m would make this a very good outcome from a tricky situation

By that argument you don’t think Maja is what we need.

Correct but it's what the club were hoping to have in Sinclair. Would complement Maja well. Maja could also grow with the club.

Or, he's a very good player that will only get better? Or are you saying he's not going to make it becuse it looks like he's leaving because that's how it seems.

It's a bad deal long-term, because Maja could develop into a top player. Might not, but who honestly knows.

That said, for the short-term objective of promotion, I think a fit Will Grigg is a better option. Maja is a better finisher in all probability, but Grigg surely knows how to move a defence around in this league to create space for others. Let's be clear: Maja is poor at this.

Ultimately, we're in league one and players like Maja aren't going to hang around. So can't really blame the owners for that - our hand has been forced. £3.5m is more than we got for Asoro.
I’d like him to stay but unfortunately he clearly doesn’t want to stay.
It’s a big blow losing a player with his potential but it’s a symptom of the situation we are in unfortunately.

A lot of strikers have done well in this division and failed at a higher level, sounds like he thinks he’s better than he is, he’ll get found out.

Grigg would replace Maja’s goals. I’d like to see us go for a player like you describe however that sort of player isn’t very common at this level.

The really important thing from this deal is the future sell on clause, we need to max that as much as possible. If he has a few good seasons over there the way they're throwing money about these days he could go for 50mil + in a few years from now. Only a kid, nowhere near his prime.

Obviously a replacement as well
