Was talking with Erin Mcleod yeserday, she's the goalie for the Canadian women's team in next year's world Cup which is being held over here. Anyhow I said the team's coach John Herdman will no doubt be up early on Sunday to watch the derby. She said Oh yes he is a big Newcastle supporter.

What the hell is up with that. The bloke was born in Consett. What has happened to Country Durham.

I've always known Consett to be Mag territory to be honest. The lads I know from there are all Mags.

Got too big for its boots after being bumped up from County status.

Plenty of lads I went to school with in Durham were Mags. The worst type anarl, awful banter and constant digs.. how they went to black and white colours is beyond me

Sadly when I worked there there were many, many mags about. And probably still are.

To be honest they outnumbered Sunderland fans.

He did get taken off a plane for been a drunk bum. He also taught me at school and I always remember him to be abit of an arse. The fountain is a wash with mags watching the games on the Foregin channels. The mags in consett are vocal when they are doing well but not so when there not. Also none of them go to games, although this maybe cost. As for the consett branch, it did have before i moved from consett, had 2 buses for home games and a bus to most away games.

There's a mini bus leaves Consett every game know a few lads who get it Smed ,like you say consett mags and stanley mags sit and watch there matches in the pubs ,

As has been alluded to in the last few posts, Consett & Stanley mags are nowt but armchair 1992ers. Watch all their home games in the local scratty boozers on foreign telly whilst wearing Virgin Money & Northern Rock replica tops covered in gravy.

Although SAFC are outnumbered in these areas, a lot more safc fans go to our games than 1992ers to theirs.

We take a full bus or even two from the Demi, the mags cobble a dozen on a minibus from the fountain iirc
