Made in Sunderland tifo tonight

Imagine not putting Patterson on there, the keeper who got us back to the premier league, but putting the likes of Jill Scott on ffs.
I made the point about Dan Neil as well. Captained us up.
Patterson is still employed by us as well.

The banner was called "Made in Sunderland", not "played for Sunderland". Its not difficult...
To me it was a transparent attempt to address the Jill Scott controversy by emphasising ‘Made in Sunderland’, as if that in anyway justifies her inclusion on the Club legends thing. I think the Club want to be associated with her celebrity, otherwise why her and not Houghton?

Not misogynistic to point any of this stuff out. I think in these debates some people are more keen to appear progressive than to use common sense and judge cases based on their merits.

Good point on Houghton in particular.

Could argue she wasn't born in Sunderland. But then neither was Rigg if that's the angle they're taking.

It was a banner someone else designed. I looked at it for a minute or two. I had no idea people would be bothered enough by it for it to have it's own thread on here. I suppose people will moan about owt 🤷‍♂️
