Sounded like he was deliberately doing it for a reaction. (I say this as he sounded too young to use these phrases in real life). Was funny (and cringey) listening to Alan Brazil not having a clue and floundering around as usual.
Alan Brazil? He wasn't even there :lol:

Without looking into at all, she is entitled to do so if she felt he was talking down or in an overly condescending manner surely?

I listened to it and this was my take on it. She introduced some sarcasm to see if he corrected his stance but he kept on full speed.

Is he her mate?
Is he her love?

It’s a phone in for football supporters, not a job interview.

She needs to get over herself. The same as male presenter would do if someone kept calling him “mate” and he didn’t like it.

Whickham, Newcastle Upon Tyne. Even though it is south of the Tyne

Heard it this morning thought she was a bit over the top personally. I don’t think he intended to patronise her. Some people, in particular the older generation use such phrases and it’s mostly meant in a nice way.

I don’t see what’s so offensive about calling her love? Should he call her mate?

Wouldn’t have said that to Brazil or Durham would he? Fuck the patronising old c**t. Got what he deserved.

I love her half and half fake geordie/media accent.

She can’t decide which one to go with, makes her sound ridiculous
