LVCC - Yorkshire v Durham

Met Office forecaster predicted heavy showers tomorrow - any play we do get will probably mean difficult conditions for batting which doesn't bode well for us.

Hopefully we can deny them 400 though and set about scoring some bonus points.

The Yorkshire lot are a queer breed mind, that Dave Callahan included. Mind that DT on commentary is as dull as dishwater.

Chucking it down here now, and the local forecast is for rain from 10am onwards tomorrow, we haven't had any luck at all with the changing conditions this season, we've bowled when it's sunny and batted when it's overcast.

Harry, is there as much in it for the bowlers as Callahan would have us beleive? Or is that just kidology on his part knowing Yorkshire will have to take 20 wickets to win it?

Haven't been listening to the match, just followed it on Cricinfo - was hoping to get up for Wednesday ..... but according to my weather map it's due to rain at Headingly from about 11 O'clock, which could really frustrate our chances of getting in and at them.

It could be frustrating, the site I use shows heavy rain throughout tomorrow - that said, rain was expected today too according to it and we had a full 96 overs of play.

If there's a day lost to rain (or a couple of sessions) I think it ruins our chances of victory.

Yeah mine says Heavy Rain throughout the day apart from brief respite between 1 and 2 O'clock. Mind I think Yorkshire's batting may have something to do with us not getting a victory rather than the weather

The pitch is not as straight up and down as the score suggested at tea time. Despite scoring runs quickly they could have lost 3 wickets before reaching 30. There were a lot of runs scored behind the stumps off false shots and edges before the two openers got themselves in, and both Hastings and Rushy beat the bat often. We bowled a lot of good balls, but also a lot of 4 balls, we didn't bowl short or wide today but we did bowl full balls that got hit for 4 easily. We didn't have any luck at all with miss hits in the air missing the fielders, and when the 1st chance came, an easy one to Mustard he dropped it. The pitch was a bit up and down at one end with some balls staying low and others taking off, batting last could be a problem, I was surprised Colly decided to bowl first, especially after what happened in the fixture at our place, and also given the fact we've won more games batting first the last couple of seasons then we have batting second.

What's going on with Mustard this season?? Shelling a lot of catches. Seems to drop a lot of routine takes when the batsman doesn't play any shot too.

Worrying.

With four full days play you'd have to think about winning. You can't go into Day 2 thinking of how you're going to draw the game.

Set out to score 450+ and gain a lead. OR get within 50 of them and roll them cheaply second time around.

If we lose a considerable amount of time tonorrow then you have to think of the draw, because it would be the only positive result we could get without declarations or a massive Yorkshire 2nd innings failure.

I'll be extremely pissed off if Stokes isn't starting for England this week, hopefully he will be, but if he misses out, like some are suggesting, then why deprive him of a game against a top quality batting lineup.

Marty suggesting it's sunny in Headingley this morning...... Unless that was just his breakfast eggs??

In other news - Northants really are in the shit.

Forecast seems to have worsened overnight so might pop up tomorrow if it looks as if we can play and still get something out of the match - otherwise I'll just go to CLS for four days instead of two next week
