Just seen the card for the first time

What a bloody marvellous day.

Ben Stokes, you are clearly not shit with the bat. Soz and that

Hopefully be the kick up the arse he needs. If the lad could combine all but this seasons batting with this seasons bowling he would be a shoe-in for England.

shoo-in

Soz but for some reason mis spelling of that is a bugbear for me :)

Shoeing is what we are giving to Yakshit ;-)

terrific day. Have put defeat virtually out of the equation, though 20 wickets will be tough. Scoreboard pressure might do it for us.

well done all. Wonder if Cook being back helped lift spirits? One good spell of bowling tomorrow and win could be on the cards.

agreed, smith in good form, colly, stokes, mustard, richardson due an innings, lets pile on 400 lads

posted this at 5-2

at the risking of ruining it all i think thats canny harsh on rocky, he's no trescothik but he has played some important innings for us over the last few years and is making progress with his career

posted this when he had about 30.

yes i'm taking all the credit

i love durham, lets get 600 and 6-7 wickets tomorrow please

Well. What a glorious day! Far and away our best (batting) day of the season.

Lot of work still to be done from here to win it. Especially if its as good a pitch as we think but a great position for us. If we're still there at Lunch we should be nearing 500 and from there we surely can't lose.

They of course will be a tough side to bowl out but listening to the commentary - they bowled a lot of four balls. Plunkett and Btooks particularly took some proper tap. If our lads can bowl a very disciplined line and make scoring difficult for them then I think we can frustrate a few out!

Would like to see Colly bat properly for his ton but think the likes of Richo and Wood shoul be allowed to have a bit of a bash to put the boot right ok their throats!

Ha'way Durham!

Yep, my concern is that our bowling looks a touch inexperienced. Wish GO was there to pressurize them with a tight line

But they are all capable and raring to go I'm sure

Hopefully Bracegirdle is right and they bowled a lot of dross, and we can do far better

Yeah, Onions was always going to be a miss but the return of Stokes could be advantageous to us.

I listened to most of the evening session mind and there seemed a lot of balls from Brooks that were either leg-side or to full. Then Plunkett hoyed two down the leg side for four byes and there was also Rashid's constant full toss dross!

So I'd hope we don't bowl nearly as badly as that. At one point I think Rocky was on 63 or so and he'd scored summit like 44 of them in fours.

There've been 63 fours and two sixes in our innings. That's some going![DOUBLEPOST=1377723482][/DOUBLEPOST]Edit - just seen the card again, 98 of Stoneman's runs were boundaries!

Any point in batting only until there is 8 Wickets down before declaring to deny them a bowling point?

They only have 14 overs in the morning in which to take the 3 wickets needed for another bonus point.

So by that token I'd be pretty disappointed if we lose 3 wickets that quickly tomorrow anyway.

Ideally we'll have 500+ on the board by Lunch and can declare.

it looked even less experienced last week where wood and harrison took 5fors and arshad on debut took wickets but i know they [yorkshite] are a different proposition.

still, we have stokes back and we will have a good score on the board, always a good thing for the attack, especially one lacking experience. should put on alot more than the 429 in the last game

It's a batting pitch like, was there today in Scarborough, when Durham went 5-2 I thought it could be a disaster but they recovered superbly, Yorkshire's bowling at times was poor, specially that twat Plunkett, he wasn't half getting tonked today. Yorkshire are playing for the draw its clear as that would edge us closer to the championship, tomorrow will be an interesting session

Conceding 406 in a day and their draw plan is going swimmingly :)

It's a batting pitch, Yorkshire will score aswell as they have been strong with the bat

aye but if they want a draw then they should try and limit our scoring, feeding us runs giving us a declaration total is playing for a result

also "Yorkshire are playing for the draw its clear as that would edge us closer to the championship" is a touch confusing - you think yorkshire are trying to give us the title?

Bowling us loads of dross (Dave Bracegirdle) seems like a good draw plan ;)[DOUBLEPOST=1377731467][/DOUBLEPOST]

I'd be disappoinnted if we didn't bowl better than them

If the pitch is as good as people are saying then I say just bat till we are out. No declaring at 500 or even 550 if we get there. Press on to 600 and plenty and then lets see how they fancy batting for 2 and a half days to save the game.

Let the scoreboard do the talking.
