The only bright spot of a shit day (for me anyway!). 9 wickets in the 2nd innings for Kerrigan!

Only thing is now Hants are as good as down so might roll over for Warks. Another painful near miss probably coming up...

There are a few Scousers who've posted on this board now which is canny. Bizarre though as I've yet to meet or see any Liverpudlians in the game.

Shit day? Have you seen our PF forum?

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Seems pretty bleak in there mate! We lost at Stoke who had one shot on target I think (a peanlty at that). Very annoying.

So then...you have to win the last game and hope we both draw. Would that be enough for you or do you need the top two to lose?

Just google it and found this beauty of a stat!...

Q. Has any Liverpool-born cricketer ever played for England?

A. I have traced three England Test cricketers who were born in Liverpool. The first to play for England was A G Steel (1858-1914), who, in his prime, was rated second to W G Grace. He played 13 Tests, and led England to a clean sweep in the three-match series v Australia in 1886.

The others are M C Bird (1888-1933), who played 10 Tests two tours of South Africa between 1909 and 1914, and Ken Cranston (born 1917), who played eight times for England, captaining the side in the First Test v West Indies on the 1947-48 tour.

Liverpool constitutes 0.96 per cent of the population of England and Wales; three out of England's 576 Test cricketers represent 0.52 per cent. Yes, Liverpool is under-represented. - J Hugh Thomas, Llandovery

In short, Warks need 9 points to stop us winning the title (on most wins tiebreaker at least), and we need to get 3 more points than your lot too. So you could even win and we could pip you :-), but we need Warks to lose or else draw while scoring 5 or fewer boni, while picking up a maximum ourselves.

Simples.

I can name Bob Willis, Phil Mustard and Simon Brown off the top of my head born in Sunderland.

Don't give up hope yet mate. If Hants win their last game they will be safe as long as we beat Worcs so I am sure they'll be up for it. Yorkshire have already played all their games and will be relegated as long as Worcester pick up at least 1 bonus point.

However, if Durham do beat Worcs, then Lancs will almost certainly have to beat Somerset to finish ahead of us or manage a draw with maximum bonus points. Confusing innit?

I was having a mare there tbh, the colonel hasn't played a test yet.

Lovely weather for the most important game in 70 odd years for Lancashire! I can sense frustration already – a mad dash for bonus points rather than getting the chance to go for victory but we shall see.

I should have said this earlier but I genuinely mean it that if Lancs don’t win it I’d much rather it was Durham than Warks, unlikely as that seems now. Not liked them since the days of Keith Piper and Trevor Penney and them winning a few one day competitions for some reason!
