LVCC - Durham v Yorkshire

Plunkett taking advantage of the allowance of bowling two bouncers an over. Perhaps he's pissed. He'll not hit the stumps when the ball is going over the batsman's head.

22 left, talk now from the comms about who'll be MoM, they're saying Lyth. Now I'm biased but surely Richo's 148 to defy some hostile bowling and scoreboard pressure was worth more??

so they reckon someone who got 104 should get it ahead of someone who got 148 against the better bowling attack

Exactly my sentiments chops.

20 overs left. 80-4, Jennings 41*, Colly 8*, BAIRSTOW to bowl to Colly. Perhaps a handshake could be imminent?!

Another quote from the Yorkie forum, this time one I agree with -

"
The trouble with the Sky commentary team, they permanently wear their "Team England" caps. If they are to be believed every player in this match on both sides is a potential . I don`t think that any of them care a jot about county cricket but they are paid to commentate on it and reluctantly have to turn up. You constantly get the feeling they would rather be somewhere else, or they are just filling in some time, before the next International match.

"Stoneman for England", "Lees is a potential ", "Plunkett and Brooks for England" etc. etc. is all you here. The problem is of course, they never actually watch county cricket on a regular basis, so their knowledge of the domestic game and its players is very limited."

My agreement being that for people like myself (and I know there are many on here), we like to talk about County cricket from a County cricket viewpoint. There's not enough coverage of County cricket in the media and when the Sky cameras are there, like today and this game, the commentators seem pretty disinterested in the County game and just want to talk up the England side.

Which granted deserves to be talked up, but not at the expense of completely dismissing the game infront of you.

They've accepted its going to be a draw...

How long before we can shake hands?

IIRC it's when the final hour starts. Which will be when 16 overs remain. So 2 more after the current Bresnan over.

Rashid back on. Perhaps just a tactic to try and tempt a wicket out of us. Jennings facing, 82-4 and 18 overs left.

17 overs left, Bresnan to Jenno (43*).

16 overs left, 83-4. No handshake yet, not that I would offer it if I was skipper. Not sure if the umpires have signalled the final hour..... Sky went to an ad-break.

15 overs left. Bresnan to Colly (9*).

13 left, 85-4. Think hopes of a Durham win are gone like. Be struggling from here ;)

12 overs remaining. 87-4, Jennings 46*, Colly 9*.

Interesting hearing the umpires mic'd up. Bresnan to bowl, 11 left, could be the last over.

10 to go. No handshake yet, probably not see Bresnan bowling again. Rashid to Colly.

91-4, Jennings 49*, Colly 10*. 9 overs left. Spin at both ends now.

Jenno 50 from 158 balls including 7 fours.

51 partnership from 203 balls

Sorry, that should've been

8 overs left. Yorkies staying out there. Rashid to Colly.

Colly edges through the slips for 3, perhaps some aggression to speed up the handshake........?

100 up!! For four. With the handshake coming. DRAW.

Good fightback to salvage a draw after the first 5 sessions, showed great character. Very satisfied with a draw, hopefully next week we can climb out of the bottom two.

All this talk about Plunkett for England, absolutely laughable.

Has he cleaned his life up off the pitch yet? He was a disgrace to the term professional sportsman whilst he was in the last 3 years of his Durham career.

His bowling was garbage & although its somewhat better now, he would be meat & drink (pardon the pun) at international level.
