LVCC - Durham v Yorkshire

There's a minimum of 34 overs after tea, 34 overs or 6.00, whichever is the latest.

Can never get my head round how they work this out and why sometimes they take lunch and tea at different times. Always thought its 96 overs in a championship day, three 2 hour sessions with 32 overs per session.

f***ing suns out there now, what's going on?!

Strange but I think I'm right in saying the last day has to have 34 overs left when Tea is taken. With the final hour being called when 16 overs are left.

4 overs negotiated. 30 to go.

29 to go. Jenno played back a Rashid over nicely. Ridiculous appeal by some idiot to one ball that Jenno padded up about two foot outside off..... Moron.

Am I watching a different game....no uneven bounce, bit of movement off the pitch with a relatively new cherry nothing out of the ordinary. Few crap shots but Yorkshire have never looked likely to bowl us out twice and still dont

28 left. Two ridiculous appeals off Brooks. These wankers will shout for owt.

It did a bit with the new ball at the start of our second innings, but it was poor batting and a freak run out that contributed to us being 4 down. Problem is though, if we lose 1 or 2 in the next hour the tail will be in and we'll be getting very jittery.

27 overs to go. 60-4. Brooks to Jennings.

If we survive, Yorkshire might regret delaying that declaration till after tea on day 2.

Hope so mate. The fannying around after Lunch was the worst part. They could've been easily upto 600 way before Tea if they were a bit more adventurous.

26 left. 64-4. Williamson to Collingwood.

Maiden. 25 left. Plunkett on to bowl to Jennings.

24 left. 67-4, Plunkett hits Jennings on the helmet with a glancing blow but Jenno seems not to mind..... Jenno on strike to Williamson.

Interesting reading the White Rose forum's view of the action. A quote from one muppet yesterday -

"Stoneman seems to have developed a liking for playing against us recently, despite IMO being a very mediocre player. I know he opens the batting at a ground which favours the seamers, but he just doesn't make enough runs- apart from against us, it seems."

23 left. 71-1. Plunkett to Collingwood.

I agree with you Essex boy. A more confident declaration in the first innings might have given them more time to win this game. We often win games after scoring less than 350 in the first innings at this ground, never mind 589. They were unlikely to ever really need that many to force a follow on.
