Ball didn't carry to Mustard though in the air for a while :(

CoP 173/9 very disappointing bowling at a number eleven bat!

Logistically is it not better for Sussex to be on there way home tonight rather than pay for another 15rooms in a local hotel & meals etc etc? Or is Cricket not as smalltime as that anymore?

I would assume they have already paid for the rooms to be honest, so makes no difference. You would think they would have rather gone home tonight mind to see their families.

Thought this, they will probably all be on the A1 southbound by midday in all honesty.

Anyone know where opposing counties stop at when playing at CLS btw? Didn't think county cricket budjets would stretch to the Ramside/Lumley/Raddisson surely?

Most teams stay in Durham City.

Three great days cricket from Durham, shame they couldn't finish it off tonight, once again they've been the better team in all departments, the only blemish being the couple of catches put down.

Not really relevant to this but a few years back I had to do a course at the BRE in Watford and stayed at the Mercure just outside the town and when I went down for breakfast I was confronted by about 20 people wearing Durham CCC track suits. It was the second XI. Cant remember who they were playing.

I know that hotel. 4* for 2nd XI...

Wow. Knowing Harkers financial management it doesnt suprise me.

Great days play for us.
Actually you are so right. To think we got through nine wickets in one session plus an extra half hour, on a track that Durham made look pretty flat, despite weather conditions, was excellent.

My only grouse was that I didn't understand Colly's field placings going into the end game and the way we bowled at a number eleven batsman! No one in close, three men on the boundary, when runs are not an issue, and bowling widish deliveries which the batsman just ignored! I would thought giving Borthwick a few overs with close fielders might have forced the batsmen to play the ball and possibly buy a wicket or three!

Anyway, what do I know? It was a great days cricket with Durham dominating with bat and ball. Great two hundred second wicket partnership and wonderful to see Jennings get his ton. Ten wickets for Stokesy in the match and Hastings bowling really well to get through the middle order in a spell of only 16 overs. Marvellous stuff and setting us up nicely for an early July trip to Headingly to take on the current darlings of the media.

They're in the Premier Inn down by where Bishops Mill is.

James Whitaker isn't there this week.
Was on TMS saying that he'd been watching him live and highlights of yesterday. saying he's got his rhythm back and that was the only reason they left him out so he could bowl some more

If we beat Yorkshire next game we are in the hunt for the title
From the looks of it, Stokes, Borthwick, Hastings, Coughlin, Breese, Jennings, Coly are the only bowlers fit enough to start assuming Rushworth is ruled out

Rushy came back on and bowled last night, so hopefully that isn't as bad as first feared.

Is it free entry today?? Could be over by 11.01 mind.

Biggest Durham win by a long way this.

Really the only 2 Surrey players that needed to stay the night are the 2 remaining batsmen, rest could all have gone home.
