Perhaps he will be a coach here in the future but you can respect his achivements here and not look at his future through Onien Cult specs.

I don't recall too many downs in the Championship. It was up, up and up for Luke in that division. I'd go so far as to say he performed better for us in the Championship than he ever did in League 1.

I love LON right, but I find it strange he is held in such higher esteem than Neil, Patto and co.

They are all equal for me in dragging us from the pits to where they are now, that picture LON posted says it all after playoff final win

2 of them now playing for us regularly in the prem too, remarkable

He has a very infectious, likable and personable personality compared to the others

He was captain of a side that had an absolutely shocking 2nd half of the season two seasons ago. Not personally his fault but it was definitely a 'down'

I'd be very surprised if he was happy not playing every week. His role would be a mentoring and motivational one if he stayed. The lad deserves better imo than seeing out his playing days like that.

People are saying keep him for his influence off the field, hence the glorified cheerleader remark. At 31 he needs to be playing, he won't play regularly here.

I'd keep him for all sorts of reasons but at the end of the day premier league teams need squad players and if he's happy being one, pushing the first teamers and getting minutes here and there then happy days.

Anyway, no point going round in circles. Whatever he decides to do won't reflect badly on him as far as I'm concerned.

Edit: He's quite a cheap/useful homegrown box tick from the club's perspective aswell I'd have thought.

At 31 I'd be very surprised if he's happy to be a bit part player and not play regularly. He's too good of a player to not be playing and he has a few year of playing still in front of him. Hes got years and years ahead of him to be a positive influence off the pitch

He loves the club, the city and the people. I could be wrong but I suspect he’d rather be a bit part player in his own fairytale ending than a big fish in some potential nightmare shitty pond somewhere else.

I stand to be corrected (said the man in the orthopaedic shoes 🙄😂)
