2 centre backs don't mark one striker. One tries to cut off the near post, thats defending 101.
Watkins didn't bother with Alderete and constantly pulled onto Luke. Why do you think that was?

I dont blame 1 defender I blame the entire unit as we just weren't at the races numerous times across the entire back 4 today.
We also had a midfield that didnt help stop crosses or track runners

Its nothing to do with it being 09. More the fact he is singled out again when then entire back 4 were struggling

Your entitled to your opinion mate fair enough.
You cant just claim we attack as a team or defend as a team though.
We dont blame the defense when we arent creating. We cant blsme the attsck when the defenders dont do their jobs either unless its a bad individual error.
For me o nien made a bad individusl error, again

As much as I like him, he’s ok backup. Needs to stay on his feet a lot more and their goals were from wide open positions. Directly at fault or not, our strongest back line is Mukiele, Ballard, Alderete with Hume and Mandava on the wings. I can’t understand why this wasn’t the starting line against a top 4 side.
Because that what he was told to do as 09 isnt as good a defender as Alderete. Why didn't we react to that?
Its fine, its the usual pile on 09 as we lost, maybe next friday our wide players will track runners and stop crosses then its all good

Yes rigg played a part not tracking the man to cross but as a centre defender half it’s your job to stop the centre forward scoring

Because they know hes an easy target. Why should we have a player in the squad who is seen as the easy target whenever he plays? Its just a waste of time.
The wide players did their jobs and stopped the crosses against Newcastle. O'Nien just passed the ball straight to them from a goal kick to give a goal instead
