All changed round here in 1992 with Keegan. County Durham Flag page on Facebook showed a "Thornley Mags DH6" flag the other day, absolutely revolting.
You will get mag sympathists fighting their cause saying they knew loads pre 1992 but I didnt. South West Durham Pit Village I grew up in for a while had none before Keegan then it changed overnight as everyone blew smoke up their arse.

β€˜Its cos they have better transport links’ the mag sympathists will tell you here.

I know of one place in County Durham where mags outnumber SAFC by about 10-1

Safc take a full 57 seater bus to home games
Nufc take a 30 seater minibus.

But the pubs are full of then watching their home games drinking cheap lager.

Cba with the cβ€’nts me.
The fatha in law travels up every game from Mansfield as does a good few others from his Town, the boozers there are full of Mags who've never been to a game but turn out in force in their 10 year old toon tops professing their die hard allegiance.

Couldn't get moved in Heighington for mags in the pub watching the telly for their home games
Really? Lived there until 2013 and think it was mainly Man Utd when I lived there
Some blinkered views on here mind Newcastle city centre has reinvented itself and is decent now whereas Sunderland has the dubious honour of now being left behind by a previously much worse place in Middlesbrough. Sunderland needs to learn to embrace change and has made its first big step by opening a medical school

I know people are saying violence isn't the answer... and 99.9% of the time it isn't... but this waste of oxygen is clearly a wrong un.
If he'd pissed on the stadium or summit then I'd say aye a fine warrants it... but to piss on some flowers that someone has laid in memory of someone makes you deserving of anything that comes your way.
Wouldn't lose sleep if he got his head kicked in reet in front of me. Probably sleep better actually.
A kicking is the only thing the dickhead would understand
anyone thinking of giving him a slap is dafter than he is.
I must be daft then

I'm not a legal expert, any on here?
I assume what he did to the statue was a crime, so how does that work when on a suspended sentence?

Suspended sentence was for a crime of violence - this wasn't. Would depend on the terms of his first conviction, but it could well be it's only activated if he commits another violent crime.

The majority of our fans would never dream of disrespecting the statue of a highly regarded Newcastle figure like that, such as Sir Bobby.
TBF, most genuine mag supporters would be the same as us. This fucknut is just a thickheed chav who thinks he’s a proper laugh! Hopefully he gets some punishment one way or another.

Loads going on in Sunderland and it’s miles better than Boro (I used to live there).
Yeah I’m hysterical about this issue
Clearly

This is getting silly now, put your pitchforks away man.

He does not represent all Newcastle fans, I have some really good friends that support Newcastle, I also know some deluded Sunderland fans (look on here)

Yes, they have their fair share of idiots, as a percentage they probably have the same as most British clubs. (I've met the Boixos Nois here and they are idiots)

Let's put that into perspective, they reputable have 2,285,653 fans (Source: )

Even if its 1% of idiots that's 22,285 idiots they have compared to Brenford who have 201,804 fans so have 2,108 idiots a huge difference.
Get fucked man

In the 70's I used to drink Friday and Saturday nights in newcastle because I could get a bus back to Redhouse from newcastle later than one from Sunderland town centre to Redhouse. Thursday and Sunday I would be drinking in Sunderland because I needed to get up for work the next day. mags then were alright to crack on with and we never got into any bother despite loads of people knowing where we were from and both towns were rocking on a weekend. These days I wouldn't piss on one if he was on fire ... unless I'd been drinking brandy, they are scum and non of my money goes to that city if I can help it.

I haven’t got any issues with shopping or visiting a place with interesting shops and bars etc. Sunderland has massive potential for development . The place has been trashed for decades with appalling architecture from the 60’s and 70’s. It’s good to see the plans for the riverside etc. The Metro needs to to be extended into Durham as this would improve links regionally and nationally.
