I’ve been out loads in both Nottingham and London (East End, West End, North and South) and I’ve seen more bother in Nottingham. I’m not denying London has a big knife problem, it certainly does, but if I felt scared like the quote in the O/P I wouldn’t be moving to Nottingham instead!

They should make it more expensive to live in London and the surrounding area... and illegal to rent to people on benefits... it is clearly the only way.
