Loch Ness Drogba

Really?

Lionel Nessie will be 30 years old in a few weeks, and since LEAVING us, ( that's ignoring his missing a season plus before leaving us ) he's missed 86 out of 130 possible games at Southampton through injury - mainly due to his hamstring injuries.

He missed 20 games this season with hamstring injuries. How would his hamstrings hold out against faster PL opposition?

He only made 12 starts for Southampton this season.

If anyone even suggested we sign any other player with that level of injury history, they'd be laughed at. Same goes for Ross Stewart.

Loved him when he was here, pissed off when he left the way he did. Happy for him that he got a good payday at Spyhampton, ( and we got good money for him ) but wouldn't want him back.

If we took him back on ' pay when you play ' he'd end up owing us money!
Sadly a lot of this is true

But LND marked a turning point when we finally managed to resemble a serious football club again

Rather than a Sunday League team playing in a bizarrely big stadium

And for his goal at Wembley he will always be a hero

100% agree, and the good memories of LND are another reason NOT to bring him back and ruin them ....... Jermaine Defoe springs to mind 😔

If he's free (which you'd think Southampton would activate the extension) it's a no brained.
The fact that his injury record would limit his appearances wouldn't be a big issue if he was behind Brobbey plus another.

Sign a player who only managed 12 starts in the Championship and has never proved himself at PL level?

How much would you pay LND, a player who has "RESERVED" against his name on one of the treatment beds?

Southampton will struggle to stay up next year some angry players will put there transfer notices in soon.

Stewart will be looking for 3 year contract and I don’t blame him…I predict Blackburn or Derby just a hunch.
I believe your correct in that assumption about "The Sinner's'' next season..Listening to a lawyer today the Club may well be in Breach of Contract but whichever and whatever does transpire, imagine going to an away ground.. The Shit they are going to get every single time will be torturous. At least The Saints name will not ring the same again when they are in town 😂 😁

The days of Kevin Kyle type players are hopefully over. To be a secure Premier League side, this is not the kind of signing we need.

He's arguably the best all round striker we've had in decades. He was the total package, pace, power, strength, positioning, vision, scored with both feet and one of his heads.

He was prolific for us, we would have been promoted first season back had he remained fit.

He would have stayed here and went down a legend for us without his injuries.

He’s not like, I’d have Wilson over him all day, probably mayenda as well tbh. And I expect us to bring in better than those two. He’s a decent championship striker.
What on earth has mayenda done to show he’s better than Stewart?

A fit stewart is absolutely perfect for the way we set up

Stewart is the hardest working Lone striker I've seen play for the lads (Brobbey is right alongside him now), work rate, movement, quick, good with his feet and head.

The lad has finally put a season together with no serious injury and scored double figures again.

If he was free, why shouldn't we be all over it as a cover for Brobbey's style.

He'll give Scotland an extra dimension at the World Cup and there will be a few clubs after him.

If he'd stayed fit he'd still be here.
