We were going down that season anywayHe was to blame. We weren’t even in the bottom 3 when Lawrie left.
Really ? Didn’t know that12 months later he tried to credit for building the foundations of the team Denis Smith got promoted
Peter Reid as well?
Sorry I thought it was just players becoming managers not specifically bolton and safcPeter Reid never managed us.
Closest he got was assistant caretaker manager.
Are we the only club ever to be relegated via the play offs ?
iirc his first game was bradford away.Didn't he come in for short while. I was like 12 at time but remember he came in as caretaker for a while. Might be completely wrong about it tho
That list is wrong as missing Bob Kyle August 1905 to May 1928 and then Johnny Cochrane June 1928 to March 1939 for example as it's missing a few managers from 1896 to 1939.38 manangers since I startedd going on my own in 66/67. Only 4 before since the club was founded. Bloody brexit.
Ok then ,5.That list is wrong as missing Bob Kyle August 1905 to May 1928 for example

I can hear the wind as that flies over his headI'm 49.
Here's another question (bit daft I know) - imagine going back in time to 2000, watching a match between West Ham & Chelsea and being told that 2 of the players would go on to manage Sunderland. Here's a question for you.
Which game featured the most future Sunderland managers?
For example Bolton's would be v Derby in 1976 which featured four future managers, Rioch, Todd, McFarland and Allardyce.
