Bridcutt to Leeds and Buckley back. That's what I would have done with as Sam.
Sam would have scouted both players whilst at West Ham and would known the lack of quality of Bridcutt and the quality of Buckley and it makes sense to sus the injury situaton with the latter first hand. Play deep defensive and Buckley on the bench to run at a tiring opposition at 66 minutes is useful option.
Anyone else not remember Ustari at all?
That might be the case, but he would only have delayed the inevitable - a return to the Championship. He didn't have enough ability to make up for the enormous physical disadvantages he had. He was a pygmy with average ability.
Would rather see Watmore being brought on as I think he'll end up a much better player than Buckley. And we've also got Lens, Borini and AJ to play out wide and all of them are getting on the pitch before Buckley gets a look in. Best for both parties if he left imo, gives him some playing time and frees up a squad place for us.

Have we kept the receipts for him and Mannone?2 games, 2 clean sheets
Got until January to decide about Buckley. Then the squads can be changed. Tempting to think that Leeds wanted to save £100K in wages. They already had a similar player in

I'm convinced this robot is the doddery one from Buck RogersScottish international Liam Bridcutt has left the club to join Leeds United on loan until the start of January, whilst winger Will Buckley has returned after a failed spell at Elland Road. The defensive midfielder - who Gus Poyet once claimed wouldn't look out of place in the Real Madrid team - has joined Steve Evans' side on an initial short...

There's been some cracking CM's of small stature who were very combative at the highest level....Bremner, Giles and Reid were all shorter and lighter than Bridcutt.. I'm not saying he's any good, just that our flawed recruitment policy means we never find out.

That I can't remember him. Wasn't a trick question. You're having a giraffe aren't you? Buckley will have come back as his loan has been a disaster. And that's from someone who didn't think he was as bad as being made out here.
Yes short term cover who didn't cost us a fee when Westwood was injured? Not really sure of your point tbf.
Couldn't speak of Bremner and Giles as they were before my time. Certainly though Reid was an inch or two smaller in height but was a stronger more combative player, as well as obviously being better. Bridcutt is limited in ability, but he's not even particularly strong, combative, or quick minded/quick to the ball even allowing for his size. Whilst I agree we dismiss some players too early I think on this one Poyet was duped by how well Bridcutt operated in the specific role at Championship level and overrated him as a result.
