We went down because we accrued insufficient points over 38 games to end the season outside the bottom three. You can point at 3 games if you like but that's cherry picking at it's worst. We would have stayed up had McClaren beaten Villa and not lost to you, or prevented Everton and Watford from doing the double over us, and so on.

It's revisionist to declare that Rafa was to blame for our relegation, just as it's revisionist to declare that sunderland sent us down.

I understand why you would try to manipulate the facts to show either of these things though, so if it helps, you crack on old boy.

Someone needs to bump this post every Saturday until they return to the promised land. Personally I would like to see them go bankrupt and form inaugural membership of League 5.

Yep my Mrs continues to complain at my moods when we lose and my nerves before a big game. We always get into an argument about it- same every time. “its only football, much more important things in life like family etc etc etc”


Then starts the “when our Dads got holder the season ticket was cancelled and they spent time with family”
 
Just seen one from work in the pub as a leaving do on. I hadn't mentioned it as part of my secret phsycological plan on them.

But after 25 mins I simply said to him "I see Newcastle went down then "........

"I f***ing knew it, f***ing knew you'd mention that you absolute c**t"

How we all laughed.

If we won a cup (which is highly unlikely but not impossible) and they didn't go up next season I genuinely think there would be a need for a brand new, enormous mental hospital on town moor

Believing that we didn't do the deed is their solace. The fact that the rest of the football world and beyond firmly believes the opposite and has that fact permanently embedded into their consciousness is something they would rather not contemplate.

They will have it thrown at them for decades, as the switched on among them know.
