Lets All Laugh At Newcastle (Again!)

They like him because he had an anomalous bit of success in Europe. Same as McClaren.

And like McClaren, he has been an abject failure ever since. Inter fans hate him. Chelsea fans despised him. He destroyed a promising Napoli, barely lasted half a season at Real.

You think he's your ticket to European glory. You think it's where you belong. But like Rafa, you are clinging to a very brief period in the distant history, and are doing so to mask you embarrassment at your pitiful present day reality.

You forced your chairman to lose a succession of effective managers. Then, though your creepy adulation of absolute pisstakers like Ben Arfa, you forced your chairmen to buy a load of flair players and ignore your possession of the league's worst defence. You did all that because you think it's your right. That you are still "entertainers", despite the fact that it's as credible as Steffi Graf still claiming to be world's best female tennis player.

Here's the uncomfortable truth. You're an unglamorous small club who haven't won a single domestic honour since a the 10th anniversary of Hitler's death. You play your home games in a giant Sports Direct mug, pock marked by a ballooning number of empty grey seats. Your delusions of grandeur have relegated you - again. And what do you do? You clamour after yet another ineffectual show pony as your messiah. You twist reality until you can tell yourself that this relegation actually makes you a growing force in world football, when you think about it.

Your ambition should be to get Phil Brown in. That's your level. Local lad, knows your league. Sign Richard Keogh. An honest pro. Cheap. A battler. Maybe loan Danny Graham from us. We'll cut you a deal, we know you're skint. Aim for the play offs. You won't get there, but having an achievable target might stop the rot.

2017/18 will be tough, what with the relegated clubs' £100m parachute payments. But hold firm. By 2020/21 you've got a winning formula. Siem De Jong is on fire! You're in the Play Off Final!

OK, so you lose against AFC Wimbledon, but it was a honour to play a part in their fairytale. And who needs the Premier League?! The Championship is real football, and Big Philly Brown is one of wuh.

Tl;dr.

 Did you watch us under Hughton in the Championship.? Direct football, fairly defensive setups and at times boring as Hell. We strolled through that league.

I've seen a few Sunderland fans mentioning Newcastle's record against Villa, Norwich and yourselves in the final run-in, as if games out of context are representative of a manager's caliber? I don't think Mourinho ever beat Pardew, did he? Poyet had Pardew's number though. I mean, if we're allowed to take games out of context Benitez beat Spurs, Man City and Liverpool. Manage that and we should get promoted by Boxing day, right? ;)

I don't think those games are out of context. You had to win them. You didn't. That sums it up.

You had wins against teams that expected to beat you and had a pop at you.

Every result points at what people already know about Benitez.

 Mackem masturbation material, this post.

The point being that had Benitez benefited from longer to work on the side, the more improved we would have been. Of course, it's hypothetical and fruitless, but I'd have thought it would be fairly obvious that we've improved under Benitez and more time (and 2 more games) would have seen that improvement produce results. Now, it could well have been that our improvement wasn't enough as it spurred other teams to raise their game, who can say?

Personally, I think Rafa would have improved the results in at least 3 or 4 games and I think that could have been enough.

So how does the miserable performance at Villa fit into that improvement or the Palace home match or the first half against Liverpool?

Have a like .

They do keep giving don't they . Wtf is it with them

So an improvement would count if it was unilateral? There's no gradient? If Rafa was any good he'd have recorded 10 victories and that's all she wrote?

Maybe relegation hadn't actually sunk in yet . Who knows but the arrogance never seems to wain . If only they'd beat Villa eh !
We'd still have gone down on GD.

He had around 10 matches didn't he ......... in the previous 10 McClaren had drawn against Man Utd and beaten West Ham & West Brom.

I doubt Benitez wouldn't done that and got much better results out of the others like the Chelsea & Arsenal games.

The Villa performance was pitiful and showed no improvement whatsoever ....... that's a fact.

Most incoming managers get a response and manage an improvement.

How was McClaren's first 10 games, surely it's more reasonable to judge managers on their first games, rather than other cherry picked ones?

The Villa game showed improvement at the back and in the centre, but the forwards and attacking players lacked assurance.

Aren't you the poster that puts up a "just for fun" prediction for each of our games, and then predict a loss in every one? Just think perhaps you're letting your contempt for Newcastle get in the way of your ability to critically assess them?

Just think If they got behind Pardew they could have been in this year's FA cup final. That could have been them...As it happens another manager they deemed not good enough has just put them down in the worst year possible.

Well they got their wish and look where it got the fuckers. Thats why they're still wanking over him, they don't want to believe the very thing they've harped on for years has relegated them. The big name they craved couldn't do what bellends like Poyet and di Canio did with a much worse squad, keep them up.

It's the reason they can't compute what has happened, Ashley has spunked a fortune on players and a "world class" manager to appease them and it's failed spectacularly.

They're down, the fsw and the flair players they craved took them down and most importantly their constant interference and protests have contributed massively to their own downfall.

f***ing brilliant...

The last 10 games with McClaren include the January signings ........ that's why it's a more direct comparison. Newcastle's 'centre' was dreadful against Villa in terms of chances created, possession, etc. Perhaps you're letting your love for Newcastle get in the way of your ability to critically assess them?

And no, I don't predict a loss for Newcastle in every game but if I had I'd have been right exactly half the time

Just for fun......:) :) :) :P

 Rafa didn't have enough time to drag Newcastle out of the bog McClaren lead them to. You can keep trying to convince yourself otherwise, but 0.77 under McClaren 1.33 under Rafa.

See Clownfish is back, he disappeared for a while after that monumental tucking I gave him last week.

Does a weekend equal a while to you? Your missus must be really disappointed with your ability to gauge time.

Probably been pointed out already but the spurs result wouldn't have happened before they went down, and the villa game is a classic example of how bad they are away from home for some reason this year, spurs obviously not at the races a bit like Everton who rolled over for us on the Wednesday.

Toontastic well into the nonce stuff now. You can tell it's all they've really got to hit back with.
They're keeping well quiet about this mind

FOOTBALLER Papiss Cisse’s first wife told yesterday how they falsified their son’s birth date on documents — so no one would know he got her pregnant at 13.

Going by recent derby form, you did slip. ;)

I think it's pretty obvious that had McClaren been replaced after the Chelsea mauling, (giving Benitez 18 days prep & an extra two games) we'd have survived. But he wasn't, so we didn't. Positive news coming out of the club about keeping Rafa, if he does stay that'll help convince a few players to stay as well.

I'm pretty confident we'll come up automatically, but I'll be watching Aston Villa with interest. They could be our biggest threat if they sort themselves out quickly; get the right manager, change their squad, start well.

Your biggest threat are your own supporters, lose 2 out of the first 5 and the bedsheets will be out, again
