The jibes about the Johnson scandal were in response to some wags trying to get a rise out of them. I think if a sunderland fan went on there and asked, in a reasonable fashion, for our opinions on the whole mess they'd see that the criticism falls mostly on the way the club behaved, and the behaviour of some of your fans (declaring they wouldn't care if he was guilty they'd still play him and declaring the victim was to blame etc.). That decision was likely made at a boardroom level and that decision was likely influenced by Johnson's perceived value to the team at that time ( it is the pervading wisdom that if he were a reserve player he'd have remained suspended). This was a board decision, not a fans decision. This was the club's fault, not the fans' fault.

In response to the last question, I'd honestly say that Sunderland had little to do with our relegation; McClaren wasn't able to plot a course with an expensive if unbalanced side, Benitez hasn't had time to right the ship, let alone turn the ship around. This relegation comes because of mismanagement from owner down. The villains in our story don't play in red and white, or claret and blue, they wear suits and are temporary custodians of Newcastle United.

The same owner who saved the club from financial meltdown when he came in, who bankrolled your promotion in 2010 and who made Newcastle the second highest spenders in the premier league and third in Europe last season despite shocking personnel abuse from your support. Yes, the man who didn't commit to due diligence, who oversaw our 1st relegation from the Premier League ever, who failed to invest in the squad when it was obviously required, who covered our stadium in tacky billboards for his tacky shop without paying for the privilege, who employed Joe Kinnear twice, Dennis Wise once, who promoted Lee Charnley to Director seemingly without basis, and so on and so forth...

Honestly, if you rate him so highly, would you want him at your club?

At the time Colo & Taylor looked to be a decent centreback partnership, that obviously didn't transpire. That we didn't replace them is further indictment of Ashley's stewardship of the club.

Re tacky billboards even the builder of the Hotch Potch extensions called it a carbuncle. Ashleys tacky boards fit in well.

They weren't that decent,You got relegated! Ashley stumped up the cash. The fact you didn't do much to help out the defence, goes out to whoever controls your transfers. I will be honest, when i seen how much you were splashing out this season, i thought "The fuckers are going for it this year"

Yes we had, but we hadn't been relegated from the Premier League, which is verbatim what I said.

We did too, but we yet again failed to address key areas (LB, CB, CM) and suffered for it. The worst was obviously scrimping on the manager again.
