Jesus !!!!!

So rather sack big Sam when 11th then

I bet most Sunderland fans expected Rafa to win at Villa and us to get beat by Chelsea but when push came to shove the managerial great couldn't inspire his team to get past another that was in meltdown.

Using Carragher as an example of the 'great and the good of football' is really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Especially as Carragher had said earlier in the season that Newcastle wouldn't be relegated under McClaren

He doesn't even confirm what Fishy is saying, just says he's 'unsure' ....... sitting on the fence isn't 'saying Benitez didn't have enough time'.

Fish: "I know that you will twist logic to fit your narrative but when the great and the good of football say that Benitez didn't have enough time, I'll take their word over a biased Sunderland fan. Carragher said, before Benitez had even taken charge of a game, that he's unsure there were enough games left as Rafa isn't firebrand motivator, he'd need time to turn the ship around."
Technically of course they weren't relegated under McLaren :D

I'm still waiting to see Big Sams horrible long ball football that had him hounded out of the landfill but then that's also an urban myth.

The Fish is just your typical mag, their argument only works one way and that's their way!

Little quote here from his post on Toonspastic.

So Newcastle and Villa kept us up, just remember that, we didn't relegate the silly black and white twats.
@The Fish sorry if I missed it old boy but did you have a response to this?

I've been in Gateshead the last two days (someone has to) and all the conversation is about Raffia getting them up and how they will hit the big time when it happens. It really is the most amazing experience. They are totally setting themselves up because unless it all goes to plan the meltdown will be epic

They are their worst enemy's like....Thick as fuck.....

We also took 5 points from Spurs, Man City and Liverpool. I'm struggling to fathom why there seems to be so many people unable to understand the simple idea that football seasons can rarely be drilled down to one game or three, it's an accumulation of an entire season of results, plus a panoply of other factors.

For example, Sam Allardyce's Sunderland finished 17th, given the amount spent on the squad and his reputation in football, this is surely a poor season? Well, no, because he didn't buy the majority of the players, he inherited a limited squad which needed strengthening and drilling. See? Context.

You just keep convincing yourself we didn't relegate you - "whatever gets u thru the night, it's alright, it's alright"

Of course you get relegated over a season, but the FACT is, your relegation and that of Norwich, was confirmed by us winning v Everton. US going down in your place was eliminated by that result. You do get that don't you ??

Champion. Do let it fkn lie now man, you are making yourself look a right dick.:D

"I't's perfectly obvious that Sunderland AFC were not solely responsible for Newcastle United's return."

That's all I needed, thank you. Some sense at last.

It's also a fact that, just as Leicester clinched the title with a win against Everton, we made relegation certain for Newcastle against the same team.

If not for that win you wouldn't have been relegated that night .......... but you were.

They have also convinced themselves that in the meantime, we will crash and burn under BSA. Ok, he didn't pull up any trees there, but his record at west ham has been totally ignored.
Double delusion - only the mags are capable of this:lol:

It was heartening reading comments from other fans forums; they seem to dislike them as much as us. I suppose arrogance and delusion will have that affect on people.

They didn't come up with that although I was told three times if they'd scored against Villa we would have gone down not them. I had to do basic sums to get them to understand that would have made two points difference not three so we'd have had them on GD. Thick as a really thicky thick person.
Ah but they then would have gone on to put 12 past Spurs (made up figure but sounds about right), knowing it would put us down, not that they are obsessed, you understand.
