Leicester or Nottingham Forest

I've just re watched the "I believe in Miracles" documentary about when Cloughie took over Forest, an average second division side (championship now) getting them promoted then winning the top division the following season followed by beating champions Liverpool in the first round of the European cup and going on to win it that season and the next.
So many "experts" say Leicester winning the Premier League was the biggest upset in English football ball but imho Forest's achievement trumps it easily?

I am auld fart so that probably clouds my judgement.
I would just love football to be that unpredictable on a regulars basis.hate the big six chat.
Our situation in '57 was probably much worse. I reality, we haven't yet recovered.
We were relegated the following season for the first time and yes- given our record up until that point we have never got back to where we were. The Bank of England club.

Forest
Promotion > Champions > European Champions > Double European Champions

Leicester
Fought well to fight of relegation > Champions

No even close
What sometimes gets forgotten as well during that period, not only were they champions in 78 and European champions 79 and 80

They also won the league cup in 78 and 79 and got to the final in 80.

And that was when all teams took it seriously not like now when Newcastle won it last year.

That period over 3 years considering Forest finished only third before promotion in 77.

Will be simply impossible to beat

I'm currently half way through a brilliant book about Cloughie - "Be Good, Love Brian." It's written by Craig Bromfield, a lad from Southwick who was more or less "adopted" by Cloughie (and the Forest team) after a chance meeting on Seaburn beach.

My Mrs read it before me and said it's one of the best books she's ever read - and she doesn't like footy! 😀

It's a difficult one
Clough's achievement was spectacular because he did it with 2 clubs and won two European Cups and two League Cups
But let's not forget that he broke the British transfer record a few times on the way

Leicester's was remarkable because it came from nowhere
No massive transfer budget
Almost relegated the previous season
A coach who had never set English football alight

However there will always be shadows over Leicester because of the way that they kept up their relentless pace and press over the season

I've always thought that they maybe shared intelligence with Novak Djokovic's team tbh

So Forest, Clough and Taylor for me

Can you be so kind as to give me more information as I will pass it on to Ike Ugbo.

For the managers involved: Cloughie. he did it with Derby as well as Forest,.

For the achievement? Leicester.

We were surprised at Forest to be sure, but it was nowhere near the shock of a team such as Leicester winning the title.

Things have changed so much. Teams such as Ipswich, Leeds, Derby and Forest all came from the second division and did remarkably well, winning titles. What Leicester did I don;'t think will be repeated unless the game itself and the money involved changes big time.
