LEGO builds for Adults

We use to build the basic sets in the 80s, then dismantle them and throw the pieces in the container. From all the bits we use to build wheeled cars or contraptions and roll/smash them into each other and see which ones survived. Winner was those who survived and not break up.

No I regret doing it with all the bairns sets. They got built once then hoyed in a box until it turned into one massive bag. We have all of the boxes and instructions but am I fuck taking through that to sort them out. Lots of good, full sets as well. Being a big kid I was determined to get all of the stuff the bairns liked at the time, turtles, marvel, Ghostbusters and transformers. I even imported some rare ones from the USA that cost a small fortune.

which is a proper fiddly fussy build. The inside is proper technic heavy. I put it together when I was off work 2 years ago, after being hospitalised - and it wasn't quite right.

Anyway, dusting it the other day I knocked it off the shelf and it fell apart. So have spent hours taking it apart. Anyway, long story short there's a 2500 piece set that I need to sort out and put back together. I keep looking at it, then putting it back in the cupboard. Sorting it out seems like the opposite of fun :)

We reassembled a lot of sets for resale when the kids outgrew their Lego. We made a few hundred quid selling them on ebay but it was excruciating and no way I would do it again. Every set had to be rebuilt to pull together all the necessary pieces and we spent hours on our hands and knees raking through tubs for that one specialist piece to finish the set.
