LEGO builds for Adults

Would you spend £750 on something that had several thousand parts and hand it to a bairn?
No, sir. You would not

It's all good. It's LEGO!
Easily one of the greatest inventions of all time.
I think you miss my point
I wouldn't be spending that kind of money on lego 'adults' or otherwise

Me and the bairn have done the big shuttle and since he’s obsessed with McLaren and Senna he got the McLaren Senna. It’s canny just spending an hour or so building and showing him how it all goes together.

Mind if I ever buy the big Titanic they’ve just released and he touches it I’ll put his hands in a shredder.

It seems it's the time of year again when I post how absolutely ridiculous it is when parents buy their kids Lego for Christmas and put it all together for them ready for Christmas morning.

Absolutely barmy behaviour. The whole point in Lego is the putting it together otherwise you are just giving them a shite toy that falls apart at the first hint of playing with it.

Too right, I've spent thousands over the last few years on the star wars stuff for the boy - he'd have hoyed it at me if I opened it never mind put it together for him. Ideal way to keep him quiet for a few hours and off the Switch when the weather's crap and he's stuck inside

Honestly man it's crazy. Coming out for a few pints on Saturday mate? Nerr, busy as fuck putting our boy's millennium falcon up, will be up all night ffs.
Might aswell tak his ball to 5-a-side with the lads and get it all scuffed up for Christmas morning and eat all his kets and put the wrappers back in the box.
Must admit, I used to love building the bairns Lego with them on Boxing Day. A couple of cans and the King George on in the background
Mate, that sounds great. Proper family time.

Mind, the Lego got delayed if Sunderland were at home 😂

I got about 12 small technic sets a few years ago, nothing got me more frustrated and made my blood boil more than trying to piece them together, fuck that

Surely nobody actually does that?

I build them with the bairn and it is quite therapeutic but £750 is a silly amount to be paying for that.

I complain about the bairns sets when they go over £50 ffs

I've never been into Lego, but the bairn loves it. She's got a whole host of Harry Potter ones including the Hogwarts Castle and to be fair they look class displayed in her room.
Some of the sets available now do catch my eye however, I might buy her that '89 Batman Batmobile, watch her build it, then nick it for my shelf.

It's barely even a toy at that point either. Just a really expensive ornament.

Loads do mate. 100%.

They aren't toys at that point - the boy enjoys putting them together then they go on the stands for them or his shelves - basically he makes the decorations for his bedroom 😂

He's getting a few of the technics with the remote controls this year so I'm looking forward to seeing him get stuck into them
