Leeds jealousy

I don’t disagree…you are just of the thinking that because I am Leeds fan I must be having a dig and must be jealous etc etc

I’m not. the issue is the quirk in the system which to me seems a little unfair on clubs who don’t already have squad sizes like Chelsea, City etc

But you’re ok with it so…

And so it begins…😔

Which part is untrue?

Your fans abandoned the club and crawled back out of the woodwork when it looked like Bielsa might get you up.

I'd obviously prefer it wasnt so and would love to see ' messi cutting the grass' but one thing it might do if managed well ( which we tend to do ) is prevent teams trying to spend on Europe outside what they might normally commit to domestically due to the increased euro revenue and be saddled with long high contracts if the revenue is a one off . Kind of keeps it pulled in & a bit sensible , might not be the aim but thats the outcome .

Leeds fans are always keen to forget that 18,000 of them abandoned the club for 15 years - including while challenging for the championship play offs under Warnock crowds struggling to reach 20,000.

In comparison we've never done that and had a far greater number of people back us in the third tier.

Their support is a myth.
Despite the size and what many Leeds fans claim, West Yorkshire just isn't a football area. You have cities like Wakefield with a bigger population than Sunderland that only have a non-league side in the equivalent of northern league div 2.

Look, one of your own pointed out (with data) a solid comparison between our two clubs based on pricing, discounted ticketing, match day revenues, ownership.

If you have meaningful data other than headline numbers then fair enough. Until then you’re just another arsehole with an opinion. Please do better

Having worked down there i think its because they are ( far and away ) the biggest club in Yorkshire which also is the largest county in England. That and the fact they had one of the greatest sides in history under Revie ( who we beat btw ) and their Title win under Wilkinson.
They have that entitled thing that other successful clubs have ( and less successful ones have too eg the Mags )
Did they though? Well before my time but they won the league twice in 13 years under him.

Aye because you’d be gutted if yous got Europa League ffs

All competitions were a lot more fragmented back then with many different winners over that same period. Only 1 team got into what is now the CL and 4/5 others in the UEFA. Most clubs were on a relatively even financial footing until Liverpool started becoming the most economically active in the late 70/80’s

That’s my reading of it anyway..

You need to go and re-read this thread or have someone read it and explain it to you

Of course we’d have wanted to finish in Europe but it was never an expectation

Not sure what point you’re trying to make here tbh but I’ll give you a like as I think that’s what you’re really fishing for…

Fair enough mate as I say, way before my time so I can’t comment with authority. You clearly had a brilliant side, however - robbed of the European Cup etc.

Spare a thought for some of us that were born and raised here. I've lived amongst the feral deluded wankers my whole life.
I’m more or less in the same boat (Wakefield), I was told at work yesterday that we didn’t deserve Europe because our points total for this season “wouldn’t usually be enough to get in”.

They are really getting on me tits over on facebook like. They are proper green with envy the sad fuckers and already have us relegated next season.

I'm starting to hate them more than the mags tbh at least with the mags alot of them are friends and family so you can banter but the Leeds lot are just ***** like, proper *****

To be fair on Newcastle Fans. All the one's I know personally have congratulated me and wished Sunderland the best.
