Leeds forum

A great uncle of mine was one of the submariners who piloted one of the midget subs that blew up the German warship Tirpitz in Norway using limpet mines.

A book was written about it – Above Us The Waves – in which he appeared as ‘Geordie Worthy’. But he very much was a Sunderland (Hendon) boy not from Newcastle. It’s just wasn’t a big deal then, I guess, and way before ‘Mackem’ became popular.

It was later made into a hit film, starring Sir John Mills. But sadly poor old ‘Geordie’ wasn’t featured in it.
I've seen and enjoyed the film. My dad's ship was sunk and he was rescued by a submarine. He hated enclosed spaces after that. One day down the pitch after the war was enough for him. We hold some terrific stories passed down from our families, we must pass them on.

Didn’t we set fire to a hot dog van or summit in the ground once ? Vaguely remember summit.
That’s just a liberty

Programme stall fair enough but ruining rotten food is a disgrace
Beaten then twice this season already haven't we
Home and away hammerings in the t20
Ffs….you people 😂
You back for more ?

It’s just fact I’m afraid. None of the ridiculous sponsorship or tv appearances you spouted earlier and you claim to be a self respecting fan and came out with that gem

Give it up man
