Lee Carsley new ROI manager - opinions?

I don’t think any manager who learns his trade in international management would really suit being a club manager in this day and age. Some are just more suited to international management, it’s a lot different.
Depends if you’re a manager or a head coach, it seems a lot of clubs are now putting the day to day managing duties to a sporting director and the coach looks after the players he’s given to work with.

Aye. Suppose you’re right there like, still think anyone who only has experience of being in international jobs would struggle at club level at least at first.

Just the differences in players attitudes and abilities etc. would be the main thing, going from picking the best or most in form 23 players, you wouldn’t have to worry about confidence then because your full 23 will be wanting to play and confident because in theory they’d be in form at club level and buzzing to have been called up.

Man management would be the biggest thing you’d need to know how to do differently between club and international level, rather than tactics.

Noddy country
Says the man from Scotland. Which isn't even a real country.
Lee Carsley is expected to become the Republic of Ireland head coach on a four-year deal that takes the men’s national team to the 2028 European Championships. England under-21s boss expected to sign a four-year deal up to Euro 2028 worth €560,000 per year.

Lee Carsley set to be named Stephen Kenny’s replacement as Ireland manager

Must surely be a step up from the previous incumbent?
Good appointment. Did well with England and works well with young players. I'm happy.
