Great post. Used to watch Laurel and Hardy with my grandad too and laughed the whole way through. I can still never see a grand piano without thinking of them trying to get it up a large flight of steps. Zulu too. Absolute class.

Strange that they toured Britain in the 50’s because they were on their uppers financially, yet when mass tv became popular from the 60’s we were watching Laurel and Hardy shorts so regularly that we practically knew them by heart.

I liked abbot and Costello but L&H in a different league for me.

Not really a remake of anything of theirs though is it? There's been biopics of them in the past just this had a larger budget.
