went out last night with Davie K for an explore and one of these strange orb things that i keep seeing on flickr suddenly appeared, wow, been hoping to see one of these for ages, just as well we had our cameras and were lucky enough to capture it.
This place was actually buzzing with them and we caught several more over the next couple of hours.

Been trying to get the classic shot of Roker Pier for the last two weeks but my 18-70 lens just doesn't have enough range. It was so cold I was half-expecting to have to amputate frostbitten hands when I got home!

Meetup on the Winter Solstice with Chillie and Dale. The car said it was 10 below when I got back in to drive home!
