He was out to prove a point at the start. Plus promoters/trainers milked people dry. I read Ali had similar treatment, he was used as a cash cowTyson crammed alot into his short prime mind to be fair. Been looking at his record he and fought 15 times in 1985 and 13 times in 1986 before slowing down to 4 fights in 87,3 in 88 and 2 in 89. Those first couple of years are some serious activity that you don't really see these days in boxers of obvious talent.
Completely pointless but I get drawn into them anyway.![]()
Froch just couldn't get going till about the 10th (remember him saying he felt if it was 15 rounds he could have taken him). Also that he was shocked at how strong up close Ward was and that he was practically wrestling himAye from memory yeah decent fights. But nothing else resonates , I just remember not enjoying his style. In fact hating it, Plus I was bitter as fuck he beat froch.
No doubt a difficult fighter for anyone to beat at 168
Bruno, Holmes.Who is the biggest name/best win for Tyson?
What about Mike Tyson’s gap? Granted he didn’t put on the weight but that would have effected his performances and development (even though he was already great)Funny, Mike Tyson has his "in his prime" thing going on and Tyson Fury has the wierd 2 careers thing. Its interesting to think where Fury would have gone if he didn't have his issues and lose about 3 years of his prime.
So Bruno who was a decent fighter but no where near a great and Larry Holmes who was nearly 40 and on the back of 2 defeats.Froch just couldn't get going till about the 10th (remember him saying he felt if it was 15 rounds he could have taken him). Also that he was shocked at how strong up close Ward was and that he was practically wrestling him
Bruno, Holmes.
Pffffffffff, some fight, thatCanelo v Calzaghe...
Don't most people consider Tyson's prime being before the prison time? What about Mike Tyson’s gap? Granted he didn’t put on the weight but that would have effected his performances and development (even though he was already great)
Holmes was well past it, wasn't he?So Bruno who was a decent fighter but no where near a great and Larry Holmes who was nearly 40 and on the back of 2 defeats.
Sure tyson lost about 6 fights and about 3 of them he give up in.
He was going off the rails before prison, so maybe prison stopped him being even worse.Pffffffffff, some fight, that

Both had time out that directly changed their careers. Oddly, you could argue it made Fury better, as he added a whole new dimension to his game.
Holmes was well past it, wasn't he?
Bruno was a top 10 fighter, but nothing more (which is great and all that, but he was never elite).
Spinks was off a 2-3 year retirement wasn't he?
Which elite HW did Tyson beat? Is he just the OG Wilder? (here fishy fishy)
I thought Spinks was pretty much done by that point though? He'd already given up all his belts and hadn't fought in a year.He was going off the rails before prison, so maybe prison stopped him being even worse.
I agree on Bruno, he was class but he was never close to Tyson.
Holmes was past it and had retired twice already iirc.
I don’t think you’re giving Tyson enough credit for Spinks, he retired him.
Canelo from his 2nd GGG fight versus Froch from his Bute fight ....some fight.
Canelo v Calzaghe...
His Kovalev fights were pretty good tbf from a spectator pov
Holmes, tucker, ruddock, Bruno (first fight)Who is the biggest name/best win for Tyson?
Calzaghe and froch. Doesn’t wipe the floor with them at all.Think Canelo wipes the floor with them both personally

He’s confirmed he’s moving up to 135 for his next fight. You must be logged on to see media items
He’s a bit too good for his own good at 130 but should be some cracking fights for him at lightweight.Anyone’s else’s commentary barley auditable in the shaker fight, all I could hear was background noise...annoying as fuck... easy win, found fight a bit dull and predictable like.
Yep. 135lb should give himHe’s a bit too good for his own good at 130 but should be some cracking fights for him at lightweight.
Shocked that Parker is available at 5/1 for a KO/TKO tonight on SkyBet.
Can see the ref getting between them and waving it off late on.
