Las Vegas (cheap drinks)

Durhamish

Anybody been to vegas recently and know any decent places to drink which is reasonably priced.

I’m out there for a wedding in 2 weeks and it’s allegedly 12-16 dollars a pint in my hotel and most fancy ones on the strip. Now I know vegas is pricey but I can’t deal with that for 5 days.

I’ve been told Freemont street and both the casino royal (best western) and the Ellis island hotel which are both on the strip.

Any help is greatful.

Happy to drink bottles if it’s cheaper

Freemont street, which is old town vegas, was a lot cheaper when I was there about 10 years ago. Was a bit more rough and ready.

1 dollar a beer instead of 7 to 8.

If you gamble you get complimentary drinks.

If you are with your Mrs treat her to a lunch in the Paris hotel overlooking the strip. Bait was top notch, wouldnt like to have to pay for a full meal at night time mind.

Casino Royale was the cheapest if having to pay for a beer when I was there.
Obviously not as nice compared to the big casinos but we enjoyed it.

Is it still free drinks in the Casinos if you're gambling?

Depends what you're gambling on and which casinos.

As another poster said, buy drinks outside casinos/in casino shops and carry them round. It is generally accepted even though it feels wrong

Was there a couple of weeks ago for a lads 40th trip. Learned very quickly not to bother with the bars if you’re just bobbing about as they’re mega expensive and just buy cans from the numerous shops for about $5. You can wander anywhere with drink, in and out of casinos, along the strip etc. You don’t have to just drink beer either they’ve got all sorts of drinks and they’re in pint cans. Some of our lads were partial to Twisted Tea which was an alcoholic iced tea which was popular. There’s also a few places that do an all you can drink for 2 hour type thing which is good value. We went to one called Blue Martini on a Friday night which was class. If you’re gambling you’ll get the servers bringing drink over but it can be hit and miss in terms of the service and also we were very suspicious about how much alcohol was in some of the mixer drinks.

Google Happy Hours, usually some on at some point in the day or night

Pub365 in the Tuscany used to be decent prices and have more beer than most pubs you’ll have been in

Happy hour in Yard House used to be canny… but a few years since I was there.

Aye they only sell bottles as well. Found the bar really friendly. Dollar for a bud, corona etc.

Avoid the Bud bar on Paris, scandalous prices.

We gotta load from the supermarket and just drank as we went, calling in the room for top ups now and again.

If you are on the strip , then as you say , Ellis Island has its own micro brewery and is cheap. It isn’t on the strip , it’s behind the Horseshoe , maybe 15min walk or probably a 10$ cab. If there’s a few of you , you can über to South Point for about $16 and drinks are $4 a bottle or same for draught. Happy hour at all bars 3$ between 5.00pm and 7.00pm. Don’t know old you are , but I much prefer the SP to the craziness of Freemontcthese days.

Great shout about the southpoint. Nice little poker room there and the Silverado steak house for excellent food at about half you would pay on the strip

Yes there is but post pandemic the waiting time for a waitress coming round had gone up. We were there not so long ago and at times we waited an hour to see a waitress

Just get a massive refillable Fat Tuesday.

Must admit, last time there were too many of us to organise anything, so just paid the casino/hotel prices. At least it was good beer, not just bud lite or whatever. About $9 a bottle plus tip iirc.

Planet Holywood complex. Blondies pub opposite V Theatre cheap for beer. Ocean One 200yds further round is an unbelievable $12 for 3 cocktails. Not watered down either given the state of us after a few...

I was there in October, Freemont street was about $10 for a big can from the sellers on the street, thought that was decent to be fair....

We gambled, so got a lot of free drinks (tipped around a dollar a drink)....

We also looked for the happy hours, loads through the week, not many on a weekend, so we didn't really get any, found the best way to find them was on TikTok, loads of places listed on there....

No point in going to Vegas and looking for bars 10-15 mins away from the strip to save a few quid, save $3 a drink then pay for a cab 🤷‍♂️....
