I'll wish him all the best anaarl.
You're right about those halcyon days, my mag mates had it large then and generally strutted around like so many dogs with multiple penises - and had my life to boot.
I'll never forget the look of terror on their faces as the reality dawned that Jellyspine really was going to blow an 'unassailable' lead.
It was clear early on that season that there were still issues (Collymore 4-3) then spunking a load of cash on a runaway garden rotavator from Colombia (Asprilla) but by the time the sorcerers apprentice (Cantona) broke the mags hearts and Special K made a pillock of himself I was in heaven - I had after all started attending church and praying for these very things to happen
The previous 4 years of torment were worth living after all
Have a happy birthday Special K
I have no issue with that. The post that I was replying to claimed that you didn't spend anything that year!A club with ambition spending money to get better. Ridiculous. It'll never catch on

Semantics. It wasn't difficult to prove that in actual fact you spent a great deal of money having also spent relatively big.on the likes of Rob Lee, Scott Sellers, John Barrasford and Andy Cole the season before as well!No it didn't.
Aye well, tough luck. Man United won more games, lost fewer games, drew more games, scored more goals, conceded fewer goals and won by over a game points advantage (i.e. over three points).Still can't believe it myself. So close. If only Bryan Robson's Middlesborough had even tried to give man united a game on the last day and we'd have beaten spurs.
The Messiah. Nobody will come close to the great man.
He encapsulated everything about what a football fan should fall in love with. The passion, energy, charisma, heart on his sleeve mentality was what made him great.
He got it and everybody followed. You'd have followed the mani to the gates of hell.
His beauty was that his faults were there for all to see but that's what made him. I look back on the classic 'I'd love it if we beat them', the image of him slumped over the Anfield hoardings and him standing on the steps, face to face, telling the fans why he'd just sold the fan favourite goal machine and it makes me proud that he was our man.
He loved us and we loved him.
Anybody who tells you that it's Shearer / Beardsley / garza who is their hero has it wrong. King Kev, from his beautiful debut in 84, to the helicopter departure, to rescuing us from division 3, to all that followed was the man.
I love the man.
Sure I seen him parked at the side of the road. Not sure what he was doing, bit looked very wrong

Good point - Keegan didn't win relegation.
Toontastic this shite. The Messiah. Nobody will come close to the great man.
