Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

Actually very surprised at the amount of people I’ve seen say they’ve never been or only been once or twice into the city centre on a matchday. Just shows what a game changer this bridge is going to be.
Got so used to parking in southwick, it’s years since I ve went to the match and gone from the town side. Wouldn’t even know where to park these days.

Don't really get the excitement about walking over a bridge tbh. It's closer to me than the other one, so if it's not absolutely rammed I'll use it. Otherwise I'll just use the normal one. Definitely wouldn't be going out of my way to walk over a bridge mind, unless the time savings meant driving in the city centre had just become viable

Its fun and exciting unless you are dead inside tbh

It's more than just a bridge
It's a good link between the stadium and the town, and it's mint for having an extra beer. But it's still just a bridge. If I lived on the north side and went to pubs on the north side I wouldn't be going out of my way just to walk over a bridge. I seem to be in the minority here mind. I'll have a few pints soon and maybe I'll find it an exciting experience later on

Bit of history ain’t it, there won’t be many more bridges going up over the wear especially this part of it and definitely not in our lifetimes. Was going to go to the women’s rugby just to be the first few to officially walk across but kept it for today as a real Sunderland match. It’s a bit of history hopefully linked to a more successful future that we parade something ower it in our lifetimes.
