Dunno, I thought when it was first mooted last year the council/club back tracked and decided against it?
Andy, Carlton or Joe?
I know from many places I’ve lived that the fastest way to kill off a public area is to impose parking charges. Absolute kiss of death. Short sighted money grab that leads to long term desertion in droves.Seems an odd move when it brings people into Sunderland boosting the economy.
Wtf happened there. I went from looking at yamars cracking photos on page 162 and suddenly clicked the next page and was back in June, with over 200 pages.
I’ve been posting drone photos since the build started around dec 2023. there was a couple of other threads started since, and the mods merged them into this, now it’s a bit of jumbled mismatch. If it’s photos and footage you’re after search my name on the thread or @RestlessNatives as we have been keeping the images going.Wtf happened there. Blinkered madness isn’t it. An own goal for us really, sad to see for the footfall that will now vanish and pittance it will bring in.I know from many places I’ve lived that the fastest way to kill off a public area is to impose parking charges. Had a look today
What’s those cracks on west side north end columns?
Go over and find the foreman and tell him mate. Come back and tell us their reaction afterwards will you!

Eh? Where the fuck did I say it was crack man? It's not a crack.

Daft as a brush you mind. What is it then
It’s a reasonable question
What is it?Daft as a brush you mind.
It will be an expansion joint or something along those lines. What is it?
Exactly mate. With retail / hospitality on its arse worldwide these days town and city councils should be doing everything they can to encourage people to put away their iPads and get out and about. Knowing you have to fork out for a parking spot and fart about with the app on your phone etc is hardly going to encourage people to come out and spend money. They’ll just get a slab from Tesco and order a pizza delivery!I’ve been posting drone photos since the build started around dec 2023. there was a couple of other threads started since, and the mods merged them into this, now it’s a bit of jumbled mismatch. At a time when footfall should be being encouraged, not diverted away.
It's paintIt will be an expansion joint or something along those lines.
Are people thinking that all the professionals working on that project for over a year have missed that, but some posters off the SMB have discovered a massive issue?
People with that mindset wouldn't be interested in going out anyway. People pay to park in every city in the country, it's hardly an issue and won't make a jot of difference to demand. There's a shed load of new parking provided within a short walk from the bridge and new development as well.Exactly mate. Spot on, If I go to any city centre in the country I expect to pay to park there, why should Sunderland be any differentPeople with that mindset wouldn't be interested in going out anyway. I'd much rather pay to park than faff on trying to find somewhere free or less convenient. My view on this altered massively when I had a kid and had to get pram etc sorted. For the sake of a couple of quid, I'd rather have less hassle.People with that mindset wouldn't be interested in going out anyway.
