Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

Wtf happened there. I went from looking at yamars cracking photos on page 162 and suddenly clicked the next page and was back in June, with over 200 pages.
I’ve been posting drone photos since the build started around dec 2023. there was a couple of other threads started since, and the mods merged them into this, now it’s a bit of jumbled mismatch. If it’s photos and footage you’re after search my name on the thread or @RestlessNatives as we have been keeping the images going.
I know from many places I’ve lived that the fastest way to kill off a public area is to impose parking charges. Absolute kiss of death. Short sighted money grab that leads to long term desertion in droves.
Blinkered madness isn’t it. An own goal for us really, sad to see for the footfall that will now vanish and pittance it will bring in.
At a time when footfall should be being encouraged, not diverted away.

Had a look today
What’s those cracks on west side north end columns?
Go over and find the foreman and tell him mate. Come back and tell us their reaction afterwards will you!
Exactly.

They'll be expansion joints or similar.
Been like that since late last year. The 1st image is from the latest image and 2nd from bottom right image in tweet below from May 9th

That "crack" looks shit mind. If its made to be there, surely there's a way to make it look like its supposed to be there.

For 15 million quid, its a fair request!

Exactly mate. With retail / hospitality on its arse worldwide these days town and city councils should be doing everything they can to encourage people to put away their iPads and get out and about. Knowing you have to fork out for a parking spot and fart about with the app on your phone etc is hardly going to encourage people to come out and spend money. They’ll just get a slab from Tesco and order a pizza delivery!

I only noticed the parking charge signs up in the west stand car parks, have they appeared in the east stand car park?

People with that mindset wouldn't be interested in going out anyway. People pay to park in every city in the country, it's hardly an issue and won't make a jot of difference to demand. There's a shed load of new parking provided within a short walk from the bridge and new development as well.

Spot on, If I go to any city centre in the country I expect to pay to park there, why should Sunderland be any different

I'd much rather pay to park than faff on trying to find somewhere free or less convenient. My view on this altered massively when I had a kid and had to get pram etc sorted. For the sake of a couple of quid, I'd rather have less hassle.
